job may be an outcome, but it is usually
not the only goal.
Keeping your professional network active isn't just a task for those of us
in active
job -
search mode!
As the Headhunters often approach those who are
not obviously
job searching, continue to invest
in your network whether or
not you are
in job search mode.
That's
not to say you should constantly be
in job -
search mode, particularly if you're learning and growing
in your current role.
It's something you have to do with zest every day,
not for 10 minutes on Monster.com, but spending at least 3 - 4 hours every day
in job search mode.
Whether you are an entrepreneur, a CEO
in active
job search mode, or a senior leader happy
in your current role, bear
in mind that LinkedIn is a business networking site; therefore, just having a presence, or even updating your profile, does
not necessarily indicate that you are actively seeking new career opportunities.
There is also a Premium level which may be a good option for those
in job search mode, but
not required.
