One that some editors hate with a passion, but that I know
readers don't notice (because I certainly never did until it was pointed out — and then I recognized it
in tons
of books I'd read) is the wandering body parts issue: her eyes roved the room, his
hands flew up

That's what self - publication is about, being your own publisher and therefore controlling (though
not necessarily personally performing) all the tasks involved

readers and you won't find
readers unless you have sales to make the money... so instead
of focusing on those sales, why
not focus on your
readers and you'll see the sales.
With headphone ports and adjustable volume controls, as well as the automated page turning feature which will mean the
reader doesn't have to support the device
in one or both
hands, it is easy to overlook the robotic monotone voice and simply return to the days
of enjoying the magic
of words.
If public librarians have among their serious fiction lovers some
readers who insist historical fiction is
not for them, don't slap those poor individuals upside the head, just

of these historical novels, which were reviewed
in Booklist over the past year, and attitudes are guaranteed to change.

readers turning to scanlations is a reason why they can't or won't license certain titles or,

of the Japanese publishers, why a series is being axed early.

reader, I found it
not too heavy (though heavier than the iPad Mini) and it didn't strain my
hands, especially when holding it
in the palm
of my

in one spot means the weight isn't very evenly distributed, though it's positioned so most
of the heft rests
in the
hand, with the battery lip providing a spot where the
reader can rest their

Seems to me the only reasons a person will «Self publish» is if she is
in a great hurry to get a book «out there»

hands of readers, or if the book is
not worth reading (i.e.,
not good enough for traditional publishers).
