I was surprised by the color but should have realized that a plant -
based powder probably wouldn't be white.
And what I found is that a lot of the
powdered probiotics are actually
not vegan because they're grown in a dairy
base.
I
based it loosely off of one I can't even remember — a 1:1 ratio of room - temperature cream cheese and butter (around 6 tablespoons), and then as much caramel as I thought tasted good (maybe 1/2 cup), a sprinkle of salt, and around 3 cups of
powdered sugar until I realized adding more sugar was
not going to help the runniness.
Rich, dense and decadent, it doesn't contain any flours at all;
powdered chocolate is its
base.
I was wondering if the baking
powder is really necessary, as they seem to be solid little things that don't rise
based on their natural firmness.
Vega ® plant -

powders do
not use nuts as ingredients, however they are
not produced in a certified nut - free facility.
And also make sure that the
powdered sugar you use has a tapioca and
not corn
base... but I'm sure you know that already.
While plant -
based protein
powders aren't necessary, the truth is, they can really help you take in so much goodness in just one scoop if you choose a good product.

Powdered Doughnuts are healthy, but they're a great way to transition to eating a more plant -
based diet and they can definitely impress your non-vegan friends and family.
But it doesn't really matter, because by combining protein sources, today's plant -

powders are teeming with essential proteins.
I can't do the dari - free
powder (potato
based) and it's also a no - go on the nuts.
If you must, use unsweetened egg protein (

based), such as Jay Robb's Egg White Protein

I didn't make exact measurements, just kind of eyed the almond butter and cocoa
powder based on the size of the banana I used.
Brenna, unfortunately I don't think these will turn out well baked, but I did find a baked bar recipe that looks to have a very similar
base, and I bet you could very easily change up the nuts / seeds and fruit combo, and add in some cocoa

Yes, I used Whey because I can't tolerate plant
based powders unfortunately.
I don't eat animal products but do consume whole plant food
powder in smoothies and I haven't given much thought about them adding even more protein to my plant
based diet... so I will be discontinuing them (thanks to you mentioning it)!!

If you're
not following a plant
based diet, you can use an egg in these cookies in place of the arrowroot
powder.
That said, it probably requires less patience to reduce your sauces to the desired thickness than it does to think through the decision of whether or
not to use arrowroot
powder based upon your personal interpretation of the Paleo diet.
Most of the recipes use the same
base ingredients, so you most likely won't end up with a giant tub of protein
powder you've only used one scoop of.
I'm
not generally a fan of single - macronutrient products like protein
powders anyway and try to get my nutrients from whole foods as much as possible, but it's nice to have the option sometimes if I'm making a shake or smoothie to get a protein boost as I just haven't seemed to build up the stomach capacity on an plant
based diet to fit all that food in there, and sometimes I just want a break from nut / seed butters, quinoa and whole soy.
