Okay, I know that despite everyone being back to school, people actually showing up to the office again, like, to work, again and Labor Day being but a blip
in the rearview mirror that
summer isn't really over yet — it's hot, the days are still relatively long and, no, I will
not put my
sandals away.
I can't really complain though because ever since we've returned to Vancouver, we've been given an early
summer with
sandals, picnics
in parks and balcony layouts.
I'm
not the biggest fan of how hot
summers are here
in Italy, but I'd lie if I said I'm
not extremely excited to wear flowy dresses,
sandals and skirts on bare legs all day everyday!
I'm always
in need of a solid flat ballerina for those
summer days where open - toe
sandals aren't appropriate.
Spring has always been my favorite season (whether
in NY or LA) because it starts warming up so I can wear all of my favorite dresses, skirts +
sandals while also
not sweating
in a heat wave like I do over the
summer haha!
It's
not your average
summer sandal (although don't get me wrong, I am forever
in love with a gladiator).
I agree totally with Wilma re how your «toes» look
in summer shoes — it actually determines whether I buy the
sandal or
not.
Sandals on men has long been a polarising subject
in men's
summer fashion, and
not without good reason — there's been some undeniable misuse of the
summer footwear staple, but
in the right hands, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to work them when things heat up.

not the only option for
summer months, as we see lots of models, bloggers and fashion editors wearing stylish runners
in the streets.
If I didn't already purchase a pair of blue
sandals in anticipation of
summer, I'd definitely be adding these to my wardrobe.
I bought those
sandals back
in April of 2012 and considering they were $ 21 from Old Navy, aren't real leather, and I've worn them every
summer since, I feel like they outperformed their initial construction!

I think the flats / flares will be much easier come spring and
summer, as flares and
sandals can be adorable — vintage and boho and feminine —
in a way that just doesn't work well with winter shoes.

not only the pop of color I desperately need to brighten up my wintery wardrobe but it would also be great with white jeans and
sandals in the

sandals, but there isn't a

in my closet I can't pair with my Jacks — they're easy to dress up or down, and the platinum color (or gold below!)

I pulled out all my Marilyns to compare other high cotton content pants to these: the older Marilyn slim and bootcut fit higher
in the waist, are actually 33» long and fit (and look) great; one Marilyn straight bought last year is like the two new pair, and one fits more
in between: higher
in the back but
not quite as long as my older pants - this was my go to long pant this
summer as the shorter length was OK with short
sandals.
This gorgeous leather
sandal that I'm absolutely
in love with and that Chris has to beg me to take off before bed (Ok Ok, maybe I don't exactly try to hop into bed with them, but the love runs deep) is made by one of my forever favorite shoe purveyors, CC Corso Como, and ever since I spotted it and immediately pinned it to my «Love + She Wants» board on Pinterest, I've been dreaming of every easy breezy spring and
summer outfit that would pair perfectly with this slide.
Lo and behold a few years later everyone has caught on to the fact that you really can't go wrong with a pair of these
sandals in the
summer.
There's nothing like a pair of gold
sandals with embellished flamingos stuck on top to assist you
in pretending that your
summer holiday isn't already over.
Since it's just
not warm enough here to leave the door without a jacket, I wore a leather jacket on top, but when the
summer temperatures will really start the jacket will be put
in the closet and I will switch the ankle boots for a couple of pretty
sandals.
