Take a pass on some of the more outré cocktail offerings (martinis should
not require banana liqueur) and stick to a classic: Cuervo, brandy and
triple sec, shaken with fresh citrus.
Three recipes - Aged (aka Traditional Medium Fruitcake,
not dark,
not light: medium), Ageless (aka Fruited Tea Brack - no aging required, low end, a lovely tea cake and New Age (aka Golden Apricot Pecan Fruit Cake - good aged or
not - for candied fruit loathers - bound together with a lashing of
Triple Sec of Cointreau).
Triple Sec and a splash of agave nectar make it taste like anything but guacamole, so don't worry.
Triple Sec is somewhat similar, but sweeter and less - intense, so to me, it's
not much of a bargain.
We didn't think we could do better than the classic, but we ditched the
Triple Sec and then it happened.
