I wonder though if the
wood countertops and the
wood floor seem to be overkill but it looks like that is
not the case in your kitchen.
I just read a couple of fabulous blog posts about staining and Waterloxing your
wood countertops, and now I'm starting to think we may want to do it to really create a super-durable surface that doesn't require any re-coating throughout the years.
No matter what kind of
countertop I have had, I never sit anything hot on it nor do I cut directly on it... so
wood has
not required any change in that thinking.
Thus far, I haven't had one that I could remodel but if / when I do,
wood would be high on the list of possible
countertop contenders.
I also wanted to extend the lower cabinets to the end of the kitchen to replace the
wood buffet since this couldn't really be used as
countertop space.
