The
Note 4 has an excellent camera with a 16MP sensor, autofocus, LED Flash and added in OIS + and Live HDR
shooting — the
Note 5 builds on that and increases the aperture to f / 1.9 for even better
low light shots and increased the camera and focus speed.
But do make a
note that
low -
light shots, in general, are quite well, with an aperture of f / 1.8, why won't they be, right!
Plus, the
Note 7's camera lets in 95 percent more
light than the
Note 5, which results in much better
low -
light shots.
The
lower aperture of the Galaxy
Note 5 allows for better looking close up
shots with some nice depth of field, as well as better
low -
light photography.
However, the camera is still 14 points far from perfect, and DxOMark
notes that the S6 Edge could be improved by minimizing the noise in
low -
light shots and the slight color fringing.
It is also worth
noting that both the lens will have large F1.7 aperture and this will further allow the telephoto lens to take better - looking
shots in
low light environments.
The iPad still holds an edge in its better focussing ability, but the
Note 10.1 triumphs in
low -
light shots with better flash.
The rear camera produces crisp, well exposed
shots though it still struggles with
low light images just like the Redmi
Note 3.
Verdict: The Galaxy
Note 3's 13 - megapixel optics is obviously much better than the
Note 2's, producing better quality and
low light shots.
Its camera has really been improved over the Galaxy
Note 3 with a larger 16MP sensor, Autofocus, LED Flash, ISOCELL technology, and added in OIS + and Live HDR
shooting — the S6 Active builds on that and increases the aperture to f / 1.9 for even better
low light shots and increased camera speed.
And I don't think the Samsung Galaxy
Note 8 holds a candle to either of the iPhone X or the Pixel 2: Samsung's aggressive smoothing makes
low -
light shots appear better at first, but the iPhone retains more detail.
The camera doesn't hold up well when it comes to
low -
light imagery — that's still a limitation for budget devices — but in bright conditions, you'll get great
shots from the Redmi
Note 4.
The S9 + also has a dual aperture of f / 1.5 and f / 2.4 on the wide - angle sensor though, adjusting automatically to the
lighting conditions, which offers improvements on the
Note 8 camera, when it comes to
low -
light shooting.
The 16 - megapixel rear shooter in the Galaxy S5 is an example of the same, as Samsung upgraded from the 13MP one in the S4 and
Note 3, to this one which captures excellent photos in both, bright and

Depending on your tastes, it maintains better image integrity after the fact, but
low light photos can be a little less poppy and
light than those
shot on the Pixel 2 or
Note 8 for example.
