Don't expect a lot of
notes about making the movie.

Summer Catch is the first feature film by Michael Tollin (Radio), whose only real previous work of
note was a documentary
about Hank Aaron, who coincidentally
makes a cameo appearance in the
movie.
Nonetheless, this
movie does a better job of
making us care
about the Yeagers than past ones have done of getting us to invest in meaningless, one -
note personalities played by the likes of Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson.
The animation is lively and unusual, and the script is full of grace
notes and genuinely funny moments, but what really
makes the
movie work is the characters, who are voiced with such intelligence, compassion, and deadpan humor that I found myself truly caring
about them and whether or not they would survive their adventures.
It may not have quite the same resonance as William Goldman's infamous line
about the
movie business — «nobody knows anything» — but Carolyn Reidy's comment,
made at a recent Book Industry Study Group meeting held in New York, that «the more we know, the more we have to learn» is an excellent reminder that, as the redoubtable chief executive of Simon & Schuster Inc also
noted, publishing has its own «peculiar logic».
Not really that much different from your average paperback's large
note that it has recently been
made into a
movie or television show, when you think
about it.
It's still quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) and it's still a luscious Super AMOLED panel, but there's something
about the dual - curve treatment to the
Note 7's screen that
makes movies, photos and games seem like they're floating above the rest of the device.
