I got confused about the temperature to bake the assembled dish...
after toasting the bread, the
recipe notes to turn the oven down to 375, so I guessed that was the temperature to bake the full dish for 30 min.

After testing this
recipe I made some slight adjustments to adapt it for the home kitchen, cutting the
recipe in half, lowering the cook temperature slightly to minimize burning, and offering suggested amounts of salt and pepper.

note — it's rather ironic that I ended up using frozen fruit for the
recipe after I recently declared on twitter that I don't like frozen fruit and vegetables.
