nothing life - giving at all in what you've inhaled, and you are left air - hungry, wet at the pits, forehead greasy with sweat, wishing for the
night to be over, for your daughters to exhaust their energy, to cool their dense, hot centers enough to sleep for one more
night in this summer that seems to stretch into your future like a planetary ring full
of debris, circling forever around something it can't escape.
Whether doing
nothing translates to sitting in the ocean waiting for a wave, sitting around a fire looking at the
night stars, meditating in silence, or simply hanging out
of a hammock on the terrace, this
kind of stillness can often be enough to create a sense
of accomplishment in a day well spent.
I mean, my life in New York City is filled with all
kinds of excitement and surreal scenarios, but
nothing in my day compares to flying through the stars to deliver watermelon - sized roses to friends in an igloo, like I did last
night in my sleep.
Sure, maybe you
kind of know you're not getting enough sleep, but
nothing throws it in your face quite like an app telling you you're only sleeping five hours every
