Range is decent but the one thing I've
noticed is the browser can not keep up with the Wi - Fi speeds and
pages do tend to
load slower than expected but far
faster than if you weren't on Wi - Fi.
Although these are just numbers, in real time use I
noticed a major speed bump, web
pages loaded instantly, and I could upload images via TwitPic as
fast as a normal tweet.
One place you
notice is the browser — while not as
fast as the iPhone 3GS or Android, it has some extra zip to it, and it even sped past the Storm 2
loading pages, despite racing on T - Mobile's 3G network vs. Verizon's.
When we put the PlayBook head to head against the iPad 2 in a browser shootout (see below), we saw pretty comparable
page load times but did
notice on websites where there were flash - based advertisements present, this would slow down the PlayBook by a few seconds while the iPad 2 would serve up a
faster loading static image.
As usual, we prefer cleaner interface, the lowest number of ads and priority at the time of
page loading, hence you should be
noticing that our new design is
faster & running from a brand new server.
