2015 was a very eventful year with
a number of new game releases and successful expansions that drove record growth, high margin and strong cash flow.
With a constrained
number of new game releases for prevailing consoles and portables, this week's schedule of offerings is dominated with the launch of the Nintendo Switch.
Not exact matches
With more information expected in the next few weeks, Koei Tecmo has
released number of assets for Toukiden: Kiwami, including an exciting five minute promotional anime video that introduces some
of the
new characters,
new Oni breeds and
new weapon types and provides a backstory for the events that will transpire in the course
of the
game.
On top
of announcing this
new DLC, the developer has also
released a
new update for the
game on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 that improves performance and stability, tweaks gameplay balance, enhances the UI and rendering, and makes a
number of adjustments to AI.
And if you want «a ton» to just mean 2000
of something, between all
of the shovelware on steam, all the indie
games released on various consoles, all AA and AAA titles, etc. you're going to hit that
number of new games pretty easily.
When a
number of new amiibo bundles were recently
released in North America, the digital price
of the
games were reduced, so the NFC Reader / amiibo bundle for Happy Home Designer could be getting reduced tomorrow.

release, Halo: Reach, is now just two weeks away, but
gamers looking for something

of slowing down your movement when you step in the opponent's ink are reduced from original - you can jump up in rank if you're good enough, but only up until S - you can't jump up from C, B or A to S + - when you win battles in Ranked mode, the Ranked meter fills and your rank goes up when its fully filled - when you lose a battle, the gauge does not decrease, but the meter starts to crack - once the meter reaches its limit, it breaks - when the meter breaks, you have to start over again from the beginning or from a lower rank - highest rank is still S +, but if you fill up the Ranked meter, you get
numbers after the alphabet such as «S +1», «S +2» and so on - maximum
number is «S +50», but this
number will not be displayed to your opponent - you are the only one to see it, and you can check it on your own status screen - Ranked Power is calculated by an algorithm to measure how strong each player is with minuteness - this will determine if a player's rank is worthy
of receiving a big jump (like from «C» to «A»)- Ranked Power has no relation to your splat rate, and is more tied into to how well you lead your team to victory - you won't drop off more than one rank even if you play poorly - stage rotation time was changed to two hours - this was done because the devs expected people to play for an hour or so, but they found people play much longer - with Salmon Run, Nintendo considered how to implement a co-op oriented mode in a player - versus - player type
of game - the devs will monitor how users are playing this mode to see if there's some tweaks they can throw in - more Salmon Run maps will be added in the future, but Nintendo wouldn't comment on adding more enemy types to the mode - rewards are changed each time Salmon Run is played - you can obtain rewards when playing locally, but not gear - originally Nintendo had an idea for this mode, but had no background setting, enemy designs, etc. - Inoue suggested that it should be salmon - themed - when Nintendo hosted the Splatfest that pit Callie against Marie, the development
of Splatoon 2 had started - the devs had already decided to have the result reflected in the sequel - they even had an idea to announce the Splatfest with a phrase «Your choice will change the next Splatoon» - the timing to announce a sequel wasn't right, so they decided against this - they eventually
released a series
of short stories about the Squid Sisters to show how the Splatfest affected the sequel's story - Nintendo wouldn't say if Marina is an Octoling, and noted that Inklings are not paying attention to this too much - Inklings don't care about appearances, as long as everyone is doing something fresh - the Squid Sisters had composers who produced their songs, but Off the Hook are composing their music by themselves - Pearl is genius artist, but she couldn't find a right partner because she's a bit too edgy - she eventually found Marina as a partner though, and their chemistry is sparkling right now - Nintendo is planning a year
of content updates for Splatoon 2 - when finished, the quantity
of stages will be more than the original - some
of the additional stages are totally
new and some will be arranged stages from the first
game - not all original stages will return and they are choosing stages based on the potential for them to be improved - Brella is shotgun-esque weapon, so the ink hits your opponent more if you are closer - it can shield damage when you open it, but the amount
of damage has a limit and once it reaches it, it breaks - you can shoot ink, but you can't use the shield feature when it breaks - the shield won't prevent your allies ink - there are more
new weapon categories which haven't been revealed yet - there are no other ranked modes outside
of the three current options - the future holds any sort
of possibility, but the devs didn't get specific about adding more content like that - for the modes, they adjusted the rule designs so that players will experience the more interesting aspects
From an abundance
of Skylander SuperCharger SKUS to free downloadable content for Shovel Knight owners, this week's schedule
of new game releases has a
number of treats in store.
In fact, whilst we'll be treated to a
number of smaller titles
releasing in digital form in the days ahead, there is in fact just the one
new game that will be coming to retail.
In addition to
releasing newer games this week — and in the future — GOG.com has gotten «fresher» with a
number of new website features along with the revamped look
of the GOG.com homepage.
Much
of this will involve erasing parts
of the environment to open up a
new path, but in addition to revealing a
number of other details on the
game's inspirations, recently the developers also detailed some
of the realizations
of the customization aspect and how it links to what Junction Point is concentrating on in the console
release.
With the
release of games like Layers
of Fear there are a growing
number of new future
releases that could be called P.T. like, taking inspiration from the Silent Hills teaser.
With the increasing
number of new IPs
releasing, the originality
of games is slowly diminishing.
The
new animations are
number 15
of 16 free DLC packs announced for The Witcher 3 at the
games release, with CD Projekt Red teasing something big for next week's final instalment...
While it's nice to see the
games are getting a
new release with a cheaper price, it's unfortunate that, if Sony goes ahead with the closure
of the online services, people buying Gravity Rush 2 after January 18, 2018 will find themselves unable to unlock a significant
number of items.
There are a few exceptions to this, however, with
games that have the «Cross Buy» feature, but these are pretty much restricted to a limited
number of new release titles.
An enhanced version
of the
game with better graphics &
new features was
released on August 30th at a few places (mostly the developers own site) and today, the
game is finally coming out for widespread
release at a
number of major storefronts, including Steam.
Beyond the obvious standouts, like Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition for the Switch and State
of Decay 2 for the Xbox One, which week's schedule
of new game releases has a
number of notables.
The goodies in this edition include two time - bending arcade
games, a strategy
game themed around eskimos and igloos, a freeware version
of the kakuro
numbers puzzle, a
new commercial
release from adventure
game developer Dave Gilbert (no relation to Ron Gilbert), and a strategic typing
game.
It's been quite the year for us - we doubled the
number of released games this year, and have many exciting
new games planned for next year!
A
new trailer has also been
released, dubbed the Overview Trailer, which goes into detail on a
number of the
game's features.
But with the
release of Dynasty Warriors 8 they have once again proved to me that there is always room for a
new DW
game, just improve some smaller things and add some
new things and smack a
new number on the box and I will try it out and have a blast doing it as always.
In the last ChinaJoy press conference, Sony had announced a
number of brand
new game titles which have slowly been
released over the past year.
Several
games have already gone on sale, but since they were
released several months prior to that first sale (and with the
number of new releases each week steadily increasing), they didn't show up on the landing page.
Unreal Engine 4 Nintendo Switch support will hopefully give a large
number of different developers a wide variety
of new opportunities, so hopefully the console will be seeing a lot
of new Unreal Engine 4 - using
games in the future when it
releases.
From a third installment in the popular Fear Effect series, Final Fantasy XV's appearance on PC, to a modern
game built on the same engine used by Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior, the week's schedule
of new releases has a
number of remarkable offerings.
Microsoft has just
released a
new update to select Xbox Insiders which allows people to filter their
games libraries by a
number of different options, including 4K compatibility, HDR
games, and Xbox One X enhanced
games.
Square Enix has a
number of advantages that support the company during quiet times with no major
new video
game releases.
In addition to the sparkly list
of all
new playable vehicles, Turn 10 has included in the patch a
number of in -
game fixes that will target various issues that have popped up since the
game's
release.
This is the
number sold worldwide and marks a huge success for the Sony / From Software partnership as fans
of the Dark Souls series, and probably a fair few
new fans, have flocked to the
game since its
release just a few short weeks ago.
