In addition to a successful replication of the summer melt
study that my colleague Lindsay Page and I conducted,
numerous other researchers have demonstrated that behavioral nudge strategies, from integrating financial aid application support
into the income tax preparation process to sending college students reminders to renew their financial aid, can lead to large improvements in college entry and persistence.
Other assessments used in NHPs to identify anxious individuals include the Human Intruder Test (equivalent to the human Strange Situation assessment developed by Ainsworth; Ainsworth and Bell 1970; Ainsworth et al. 1978; see Coleman et al., this volume), the Novel Object Test (incorporated

studied independently; see Bronson 1972 and Fox 1989), and the transition to new peer group formation (equivalent to the transition to preschool or kindergarten in humans,
studied by
numerous developmental psychologists and neuroscientists; see Groeneveld et al. 2013; Gunnar et al. 2003; Ladd and Price 1987; Russ et al. 2012; Turner - Cobb et al. 2008).
About 5 % of all children in the Western world fulfill diagnostic criteria for attention deficit — hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), 1 and a large proportion of such children are treated pharmacologically.2 ADHD has been associated with criminality3, 4 and externalizing disorders.5 Beneficial short - term effects of ADHD medication on symptoms of ADHD and associated conduct problems have been shown in
numerous randomized, controlled
studies involving children6 - 8 and adults.9 - 11 ADHD symptoms are largely persistent from childhood
into adulthood, 12 but one prominent feature of ADHD treatment is that the discontinuation of medication is common, 13,14 especially in adolescence and early adulthood.15 The importance of treatment discontinuation for criminality and
other longer - term outcomes is largely unknown.
