Do you have any recommendations for substitutes
for nut meal, nut flour or ground nuts, as they are used in recipes like this?
My first suggestion would be to try
other nut meals that you are not allergic to.
Store
nut meals in the refrigerator or freezer, and use them soon after you buy or make them.
Begin with the crust by grinding almond and walnuts in your food processor or blender until you get a
fine nut meal.
I recommend you start with 2 1/2 cups and add in
more nut meal until its a dough consistency.
Line a flat surface with parchment paper and sprinkle with
raw nut meal.
Most muffin recipes would do just fine with a swap
of nut meals.
We have now been able to source a new finer blend of
Macadamia Nut Meal direct from our local Australian farmers.
Crumble Topping: 1 cup
nut meal from almond milk 1 cup gluten - free all purpose baking flour or oat flour 3/4...
I haven't baked
with nut meal so far, but I see now that there's a lot to discover in the baking area as well, and it's even Paleo!
And if you're into making homemade almond meal or other homemade
nut meals like I am, I definitely recommend that you invest in a good sieve.
(Tip: to
make nut meal, pulse raw blanched hazelnuts or almonds in a food processor until just ground — it should have a sandy consistency.)
Related to the almond relacement question: My husband is allergic to all tree nuts - does anyone have a suggestion for
replacing nut meals / flours in recipes to get a similar taste / texture?

Tiger Nuts are a tuber, not a nut, and the
tiger nut meal works well as a substitute for almond meal often times.
Heavier flours such
as nut meals give pita bread extra texture.
The recipes in Wheat Belly replace wheat flour with ingredients like coconut flour, ground flaxseed, and
nut meals because these are nutritious foods that don't produce abnormal responses similar to those of wheat.

For my second frozen treat of July, I updated that childhood favorite, making grain - free cookies from
nut meal.

the nut meal from turning into nut butter.

Used by itself, the ground golden flaxseed tends to be too crumbly, so it is best used as a secondary flour along with almond meal or other
nut meal.
The finer
your nut meal the more dense (i.e. filling) your balls will be.
You want
the nut meal to soak up some of the healthy fats from the almond butter.
Add
the nut meal to the butter and Xylitol mixture and combine everything thoroughly.
