I regularly make almond milk and other
nut milks at home and I can assure you all you need are almonds (activated is my preference), water, a pinch of salt and maybe a sweetener like dates, honey, maple syrup, rice malt syrup or stevia if you feel like it.
Let me start by saying, if you already make your own
nut milks at home, you have to try this.

So have a read of all these super easy alternatives to making yummy flavoured
milks at home (also note, you may have noticed I'm not a fan of dairy, so I've firstly included a basic
nut milk recipe):
Soak the tiger
nut in plenty of water the night before you are planning to make the
milk (they need to soak for
at least 8 hours).

I assume that all that fat from the
nut goes into the
milk which is a whooping 40 grams
at least.
If you have children don't say the words «
nut milk bag» in front of them, or they'll laugh
at you!
I make almond
milk at home on a weekly basis using a
nut milk bag (dirtiest kitchen gadget term ever?)
Kelsey, the other hero (but too frumpy
at this hour to look like a hero), knew about «

I have some
nuts soaking now, and will be trying almond, cashew, and pecan
milks later... I am making extremely diluted versions though (6
nuts per cup of water, in order to keep the calories
at an acceptable level....

At 13g of sugar per serving, I'm going to skip the coconut water and substitute my 9.5 pH water or some homemade
nut milk, depending on whether or not I add jalapeno!

In the morning or
at least 4 hours later, add a splash of
milk, top with peanut butter (or other
nut butter), jam and fresh blueberries (or any fruit of your choice) and enjoy!
We pan «toasted» the corn, threw in the onions, coconut
milk, and curry for a quick simmer, then followed the recipe, topping with parmesan cheese and toasted pine

I whipped into the grocery store on the way home for lite coconut
milk and

at 350 F, I make these weekly for school snacks and they're the bomb)-- Reduce sugar to 1/2 cup for more of a snack and less of a dessert — If I'm in a hurry, I just do 6 T boiling water and 3 T cocoa powder and just mix it into the whole thing!
Rinsed the oats and used fresh water then strained using a
nut milk bag — not slimey
at all (well, maybe just a tiny bit but in a good way that thickens the
milk!).
Making your own
nut milks serves medium and dark - roast coffee, and beans from Central and South America, better than hazelnut syrups you see on the bar
at large chains.
