so please consider using other
nuts and seeds instead, as CA is currently the only major source of almonds in the world (if you're able to find a small, local / non-CA supplier, wonderful!).

To Susan K: It sounds like you were using sunflower
seeds with the shell left on, they are less popular than the shelled ones but cheaper
and sometimes salted, it's time consuming to shell them
so they tend to be eaten as a leisurely snack, a bit like pistachio
nuts.
Do you think I can crush some
nuts like almonds instead of sunflower
seeds as I am terribly allergic to sunflower
seeds sadly

Well, these other books had me
so convinced this was the way to go,
so I was a little scared to gain the weight back when I decided to take your challenge
and start incorporating little bits of whole food fats back into my diet -

so the granola cooks evenly 9) Bake for another 15 minutes, then stir again, before cooking for a final 15 minutes or until golden brown 10) Remove granola from the oven
and place on cooking racks until completely cool
and crisp 11) Store granola in air - tight containers at room temperature.
It's just milk made from
nuts and seeds and has made no sense to my parents how one «milks» a
nut so I hope I can clear some things up for them, if perhaps visually, here.

so glad you found the guide helpful To get more unsaturated fats in your diet, look for avocados, olives,
nuts, fatty fish (like salmon
and tuna),
and seeds (like chia
seeds, pumpkin, sunflower,
and flax
seeds) are great options.
You could also easily add in chia
seeds and other
nuts and seeds, like sunflower
seeds — but you'd want to grind them
so they stick better, otherwise these would be very crumbly.
Sidenote, I would throw in some
nuts or
seeds to increase the volume
and protein —
so it becomes more filling to eat fewer;) Hope this helps!!
