In fact, this crust has so much flavor
on its own that I think it would
make for a fantastic light meal simply drizzled with some good extra virgin olive oil,
topped with a few sliced olives, a handful of fresh herbs and maybe a few pine
nuts sprinkled
on top.
This is great for breakfast with
nut milk and maybe some fruit
on top but it also
makes a really good snack.
Only change next time I
make these is to bake the crust
on a lower rack in the oven and
make sure it's well browned before the
nut topping goes
on.
I also try to
make a large salad every few days, because it's an easy lunch with some added protein and
nuts / seeds
on top!
The pecans are a nod to traditional Texas sheet cakes and the almonds are a nod to the Dream Ultimate Almond and almond flour used to
make the cake, but you can use all almonds, all pecans, or no
nuts at all
on top if you prefer.
The «crust» is a riff
on the popular cauliflower crust, this one
made with pumpkin (or winter squash) slathered with a basil - spinach
nut sauce, and
topped with vibrant cherry tomatoes or other seasonal veg.
Cover with wax paper
on top and then press the bottom of a glass into it, compressing the
nuts and
making the
top smooth (see video).
These little medallions come to my rescue... they're
made with heart healthy extra dark chocolate, and lots of colorful little super foods (dried fruit,
nuts, and seeds) sprinkled
on top for fun.

I
made a 2 cup batch and then whirled some red roasted peppers in the cleaned out processer bowl to drizzle
on top along with a few toasted pine
nuts.
We ditched the sugar in the apple sauce (because it's really not needed if you use sweet apples), replaced cookie crumble with a simple
nut and date crumble and used whipped coconut cream
on top to
make it vegan.
When I
make these chewy, they stay nice and moist without needing a glaze or frosting but if you want to glaze the
top you can
make another 1/2 recipe of the
nut butter / milk recipe to go
on top.
In fact, I too love having breakfast for dinner and when I got home from a long day of work tonight, I
made vegan banana pancakes with NuNaturals powder, cinnamon,
nut meg, almond milk, sea salt, and drizzled maple syrup
on top.....
I love the final presentation of this dish, because the colors are so vibrant and the shredded basil and pine
nuts sprinkled
on top make it look oh - so - tasty!
I've
made versions of the bake with fresh and frozen berries depending
on seasonality, have added bananas, various types of
nuts and typically, I like to
top it with raw unsweetened coconut flakes.
I almost always turn to
nut butters for a snack, whether slathered
on a rice cake
topped with fruit, or
made into raw snack bites,

My mom would
make half of the dish
topped with pecans for her and my dad and half the dish just
topped with the brown sugar layer for my brother and I. Pecans still aren't my favorite
nut, but I am growing to enjoy them
on occasion in dishes and my mom no longer has to
make a half and half dish.
It
makes a very comfy, cozy whole grain breakfast and can be dressed up with fruit, fresh or dried,
nuts, seeds — whatever you love
on top of your oatmeal, you'll love here.
Feel free to swap out the
toppings for whatever you have
on hand - coconut,
nuts and seeds all
make delicious options.
They
make a great snack with some
nuts and taste great
on top of oatmeal.
This Brazil
nut banana bread would be
on my list for sure, but
on the
top would also be to

I am so glad it turned good for you:) I love chocolate with a bit of salt too:) Strawberries and
nuts are optional, these were just a suggestion, actually I even
made this one day with M&M
on top for my daughter for kindergarden.
And last, although these muffins certainly do not need the frosting, they are amazing
on their own... the frosting and chopped
nuts on top really really REALLY
make a huge difference.
Then there are chapters
on simple smoothies (the goodnight smoothie), show stoppers (grab - and - go blackberry oats),
nut milks, juices,
nut pulp crackers, blended desserts (bounty jars), and other helpful things to
make for additions and

on Instagram, so I thought I'd do a post to show you how to
make it.
Feel free to swap out the
toppings for whatever you have
on hand - coconut,
nuts and seeds all
make delicious options.
If there's one thing I learned from
making countless oatmeals for Instagram, it's that the best oatmeals have a combination of fresh fruit, dried fruit, crunchy
toppings like
nuts or seeds, and a generous drizzle of sauce or syrup
on top (this is key!).
Slather lots of butter or ghee
on your lightly steamed broccoli, Caesar Salad dressing
on your mixed green salads (loaded also with soft - boiled egg, cheeses,
nuts, etc.), and enjoy some Panna Cotta
made from fresh cream and a little bit of honey or maple syrup and
topped with fresh berries.

You can use these little bites in place of granola if you please, eat them like cereal (something I think would simply be a must - try), snack
on them as they are, use them
on top of smoothies, add them to some yogurt like coconut yogurt, or layer with some
nut butter or choice and maybe a banana to
make little mini sandwiches.
I sub in honey for all the sugar and thought about
making a crumble to go
on top of it that is full of almonds and chopped
nuts (walnuts since I live in a walnut orchard) I've also been
making gluten free oatmeal with a spoon full of pumpkin puree for my little ones in the morning they've been digging that alot.
And unlike many of the spiced
nut recipes out there, this cashew mix is
made on the stove -

It has been awhile since we
made any muffins
on the blog and I am currently eating one these with

make these chewy, they stay nice and moist without needing a glaze or frosting but if you want to glaze the
top you can
make another 1/2 recipe of the
nut butter / milk recipe to go
on top.
