For No Bake Granola
Bars, combine 2 cups old fashioned rolled oats, 1/2 cup
oat flour, 2 cups puffed rice cereal, 1/2 cup coconut chips or other mix - ins (including nuts, if you
like) into a bowl and mix.
Not that they didn't taste good or that I didn't
like them, but they were just a bit unconvenient to eat (i.e. Nature Valley
oat and honey
bars!).
If you
like oat bars in general, you can't really go wrong here i would recommend these and shall be buying more.
Packed with fruit and seeds, these
oat bars are
like a thick, cakey granola
bar, and so much more exciting than a bag of GORP.
I even incorporate it into some of my breakfasts,
like quinoa «porridge» instead of oats and these chewy chocolate quinoa
oat bars.
The
bars are somewhere in the middle of crunchy and chewy, and they're
like a texture nirvana with the combination of toasted whole almonds, little
oat bits, and lots of dried fruit.
The chia seeds combined with berries give the jam a jelly
like texture which is good especially as a filling in
oat bars.
I can't believe you didn't
like the peanut &
oat trek
bar though?!
For this particular
oat bar I used goji berries, shredded coconut, and cacao nibs; but feel free to add whatever you'd
like.
