Each of these quick and healthy
recipes for overnight
oats in a jar
takes just a matter of minutes to make and can be made ahead of time.
As the title of the post has hinted, this
recipes takes the added step of lightly toasting the
oats first, which brings out a layer of warm, nutty flavors that only
oats toasted in brown butter can have.
I use steel cut
oats in this
recipe because I love the hearty texture they
take on when cooked in the slow cooker.
It

took some convincing to get on board.
The changes I made to Bircher - Benny's original
recipe is
taking away the
oats and the cows milk and adding superfoods such as hemp seeds, chia seeds, and cacao to name a few.

Note: Be warned, steel cut oals can
take up to 30 minutes to cook on the stove top so if you don't see yourself finishing the whole box, you can substitute old - fashioned
