You got the standard Team Deathmatch and Free - For - All, and
some objective based modes like Search and Destroy, Domination and Sabotage.
That being said, in Titanfall
objective based modes like Hardpoint Domination play extremely well.
Not exact matches
There are a couple other multiplayer
modes like Blast, which is your team deathmatch, and Strike, which is your more traditional
objective -
based team
mode.
Later games introduced
modes like «Ring Shot,» where players can earn points by hitting the ball through rings of varying sizes; «Item Battle,» where characters use items
based on the Mario universe to interfere with each other's game and gain an advantage; and special minigames where the player can meet a tennis - related
objective, incorporating themes from past Nintendo games.
Those of you who have played maps
like Verdun Heights or Fort de Vaux on larger,
objective -
based game -
modes such as Operations or even Rush will know that these smaller maps suffered from massive imbalance.
Those looking for smart tactics in a less punishing context will be very well catered for in the controlled frenzy of
objective -
based modes like Control and Salvage.
Outside of just killing everybody there are no
objective based modes which feels
like a missed opportunity to further push teamwork and tactical play.
Truth be told, I'm not that good a shot, so
objective -
based modes like this one let me help the team and keep leveing up even if I'm nowhere near the top of the K / D ratios.
Opting to
base itself around a series of central
objectives rather than the classic premise of surviving as many waves as possible, this version of zombies plays more
like a story - driven mission than
modes of the past and it's integrated well into the gameplay despite how farfetched it becomes.
The multiplayer is as you would expect it for a Call OF Duty game, I know a lot of you will purchase the game only to play multiplayer, personally I'm not very good at it but still
like to take part, I will always be a «runner up» when playing online multiplayer but
like to give it a shot, it comes with all of the usual standard game
modes; Team Deathmatch, Domination, Search and Destroy, Free For All, Capture the flag etc and also has a multiplayer
mode known as war which doesn't really rank you on kills or deaths, it's an
objective based game
mode in which you are usually attacking or defending and have 3 separate
objectives to complete in order to win whether it be building a bridge or escorting a tank, I found this the most enjoyable out of the standard multiplayer list.
The
mode is an
objective -
based, multi-part game
mode, sort of
like Battlefield 1's Operations
mode.
With the exception of War
mode, which pits Allies against Axis in a
objective -
based struggle for map control, it doesn't do anything new, however, and just feels
like more of the same.
Both are character - centric team -
based shooters, with heroes that look
like Blizzard could have designed them, battling in
objective -
based game
modes.
They include: Attrition, a basic deathmatch
mode where teams earn points for every kill and first team to score limit wins the match; Last Titan Standing is exactly what it sounds
like, everyone starts in a Titan with the
objective of eliminating every Titan from the opposing team; Hardpoint is a domination
mode where teams vie for control of three points on the map with the team taking control earning points towards victory; Capture the Flag is also fairly standard where teams try to capture the enemy flag and return to
base; Pilot Hunter is similar to Attrition except that only Pilot kills count towards victory.
Plenty of classic multiplayer
modes from the past make a welcome comeback, notably the
objective -
based Domination and Conquest, both of which involve winning and holding onto specific points, but Conquest takes place on much larger maps and feels terrifyingly
like finding yourself in the thick of a real battle.
