I've been playing Call of Duty with the same group of friends for years, and sometimes we play
objective modes like Capture the Flag and Search and Destroy a little too seriously.
Not exact matches
Medal of Honor plays
like most FPS online games with some nice
modes to play
like Team Assault,
Objective Raid, Combat Mission and Sector Control.
There could have even been a
mode where you compete against each other to complete
objectives like gather valuable intel or eliminate the enemy officer.
In fact, the
mode really just feels
like thrown together
objectives, with very limited incentives as to why you should sit through and play this
mode.
As this is a career
mode, there are
objectives that must be met
like riding on 2 wheels and of course scores to bear.
There are a couple other multiplayer
modes like Blast, which is your team deathmatch, and Strike, which is your more traditional
objective - based team
mode.
Although I must admit that my favourite
mode was Search and Rescue which requires players to search for particular
objectives like bombs etc..
Some of the
modes like Capture the Flag and VIP are more
objective, bringing classic first person shooter gametypes to the Bomberman world and making them work.
Later games introduced
modes like «Ring Shot,» where players can earn points by hitting the ball through rings of varying sizes; «Item Battle,» where characters use items based on the Mario universe to interfere with each other's game and gain an advantage; and special minigames where the player can meet a tennis - related
objective, incorporating themes from past Nintendo games.
The
objectives themselves are pretty simply and it does feel
like more could have been done with the concept, but it forces you and your to actually move around the map and go on the offensive rather than just stay hunkered down in a single spot for the entire game, which is a problem horde - style
modes in other games suffers from.
There's a tutorial
mode to help guide you through the basics of the game before moving into a singleplayer campaign where you're given a series of
objectives,
like selling X amount of copies of one game, for example.
Those of you who have played maps
like Verdun Heights or Fort de Vaux on larger,
objective - based game -
modes such as Operations or even Rush will know that these smaller maps suffered from massive imbalance.
It seems
like an oversight and is a necessity in the open world
mode especially when you over-shoot an
objective and need to do a one - eighty.
The main
objective in all of the game's
modes is to cover everything in paint, not frag your opponents
like in other shooters.
Those looking for smart tactics in a less punishing context will be very well catered for in the controlled frenzy of
objective - based
modes like Control and Salvage.
Game
modes like Domination, Capture the Flag, Last Man Standing (basically PUBG) and Assault (staged
objectives like in Enemy Territory, Dirty Bomb, CoD: WW2 War
mode, Battlefield 1 Operations) were introduced to multiplayer gamers by UT.

objectives
The new game
mode is called Frontlines, and the premise is an interesting one:
like a game of tug - of - war, you'll need to push through each consecutive
objective (and prevent the enemy team from doing so) in a chain before reaching the enemy HQ point, at which point 2 telegraph poles will have to be destroyed (or defended) a little
like Rush.
Outside of just killing everybody there are no
objective based
modes which feels
like a missed opportunity to further push teamwork and tactical play.
Truth be told, I'm not that good a shot, so
objective - based
modes like this one let me help the team and keep leveing up even if I'm nowhere near the top of the K / D ratios.
On top of the campaign, there's a full multiplayer
mode that lets teams of two compete in a couple of different games,
like warzone, which gives you a map and drops random
objectives onto it.
There are currently two main
modes available which are great big battles / skirmishes which are large 40 - 60 to 30 - 40 players in combat to take or hold
objectives and a horde
like mode where as a team of five you have to complete certain
objectives while being pestered by tyranids.
Even though
modes like Survival and Overwatch only have 2 and 3 maps respectively (something that will hopefully be addressed via the free maps and
modes set to be included as part of the game's content drops), these maps are unique in their own right and offer limitless options with which to tackle your
objectives.
Scratch One Flattop is a team deathmatch -
like mode with the added
objective of defending your aircraft carrier and destroying enemies with the bombers and torpedo bombers provided for your team.
The three
modes offer a nice balance between shooting other rigs and trying to fulfill sports -
like objectives.
Playing in co-op was a blast as each of us had our own
objective to complete and things were able to run
like clockwork, it was all for one and one for all, at least until we got into versus
mode.
The game
mode that steals the show however is Hunt
mode as its simple
objective allows players to utilise all of their abilities to the max, which sadly makes the other game
modes feel
like an afterthought as they can limit each characters abilities.
Good combos and player graphics and a story
mode where you can go through the campaign of the anime and manga and a shops to get better combos for your character and dlc clothes and characters and a little mess around lobby
like at wings of freedom where you can walk around and do what you
like and do some campaign missions in 3d where you walk or run around the map doing your
objective and same for and online
mode with some PvP actions or a capture the flag mini game where with a team of 6 max on each side or capture the bomb from the first cupple of episodes from the beginng
Opting to base itself around a series of central
objectives rather than the classic premise of surviving as many waves as possible, this version of zombies plays more
like a story - driven mission than
modes of the past and it's integrated well into the gameplay despite how farfetched it becomes.
There's Deathmatch (yes,
like always, it's all about the killing), Infiltration (which has you going against the opposition to accomplish
objectives before them, earning you points towards the victory), Capture the Greased - up Deaf Guy (Capture the Flag with a twist, of which has you chasing around a naked and greasy man to get hold of the flag), and finally Multiverse Madness (a Horde
like mode, which sees you teaming up to take on waves of AI opponents from the different universes in the game).
Just
like the career
mode levels, there are Amateur Spots and eventually Pro level Spots when all the amateur
objectives are completed.
It's a quick and easy way for players to know where the best roads are without having committed to memory every single twist and turn, and it allows players to jump right into any mission without having to worry about memorizing all the best routes.The second key element is the possession
mode itself, which slows down time so that players can actually take in not only which car they would
like to take, but what model car it is and what direction their
objective may be going.
The multiplayer is as you would expect it for a Call OF Duty game, I know a lot of you will purchase the game only to play multiplayer, personally I'm not very good at it but still
like to take part, I will always be a «runner up» when playing online multiplayer but
like to give it a shot, it comes with all of the usual standard game
modes; Team Deathmatch, Domination, Search and Destroy, Free For All, Capture the flag etc and also has a multiplayer
mode known as war which doesn't really rank you on kills or deaths, it's an
objective based game
mode in which you are usually attacking or defending and have 3 separate
objectives to complete in order to win whether it be building a bridge or escorting a tank, I found this the most enjoyable out of the standard multiplayer list.
The
mode is an
objective - based, multi-part game
mode, sort of
like Battlefield 1's Operations
mode.
It makes Payday 2 an awkward game for the Switch too because it's not
like you can jump in and out to complete small
objectives while playing in handheld
mode.
With the exception of War
mode, which pits Allies against Axis in a
objective - based struggle for map control, it doesn't do anything new, however, and just feels
like more of the same.
Choose from three game
modes: play against your fellow family members in Main Mode, play as you
like with up to four players in Free Play or take on difficult
objectives in Challenge Mode.
In the cooperative
mode you'll face a few hordes of zombies
like this while defending an
objective.
It would of been nice to have other
objectives like «survive until time runs out» and a variety of other
modes to help flesh out the single player aspect more.
Showd0wn is the most notable part of the latest update, in this latest game
mode has multiplayer sub-modes; it's essentially a 2 v 2 in which you can play games
like «Steal the HDD», a king of the hill style «Doom - Load» and a Capture the
objectives style «Erase / protect the servers»
That being said, in Titanfall
objective based
modes like Hardpoint Domination play extremely well.
You got the standard Team Deathmatch and Free - For - All, and some
objective based
modes like Search and Destroy, Domination and Sabotage.
Both are character - centric team - based shooters, with heroes that look
like Blizzard could have designed them, battling in
objective - based game
modes.
They include: Attrition, a basic deathmatch
mode where teams earn points for every kill and first team to score limit wins the match; Last Titan Standing is exactly what it sounds
like, everyone starts in a Titan with the
objective of eliminating every Titan from the opposing team; Hardpoint is a domination
mode where teams vie for control of three points on the map with the team taking control earning points towards victory; Capture the Flag is also fairly standard where teams try to capture the enemy flag and return to base; Pilot Hunter is similar to Attrition except that only Pilot kills count towards victory.
If some more toys and maybe a different story
mode gets added in that has a different
objective and more or less time to do so, I'd love to see something
like that.
What I
Like: Excellent tutorial; Clear and challenging
objectives; Plenty of variety of things to do; excellent graphics; sandbox
mode is a blast!
Plenty of classic multiplayer
modes from the past make a welcome comeback, notably the
objective - based Domination and Conquest, both of which involve winning and holding onto specific points, but Conquest takes place on much larger maps and feels terrifyingly
like finding yourself in the thick of a real battle.
