The opening sequence of «Captain America: The Winter Soldier» owed as much to «Metal Gear Solid» as to anything from the comics, while «Snowpiercer» both appropriated some of the tone of «Bioshock» and was structured very much like a video game: the sense of forward progression, of discovery, even including
occasional boss battles (what is Alison Pill's schoolroom sequence if not that?).

As you grow in power, things largely get considerably easier, though to be in with even a sliver of a chance of defeating them,
the occasional boss battle still requires some level grinding, which is likely to be a turn off for those who are looking for a game with smooth progression.

Enemies at first are quite lacklustre in the game as you fight way through too many Frost Giants with the highlight being

bosses are stronger than these basic enemies, but tactically I found it most effective to just set my team to support me before
battle with healing magic, while I repeated the same 3 hit combo with the
occasional special move or grenade toss till the
boss eventually died.
While
boss battles can create a bit of a grind and the
occasional glitch is fairly noticeable, I truly enjoyed my time with Rogue Legacy.
As well as these numerous cutscenes, various quick time events (QTE) lay strewn throughout the game ranging from your
occasional QTE, to a
boss battle centered around them.
The
boss battles are still aplenty, but the
occasional platforming stage offers additional means for players to hone their skills.
