As you explore the deserted town of Shivercliff, you'll cross paths with various malicious creatures, as well as the
occasional boss battle but each
encounter loses its intensity quickly.
The reason for this is that stages are basically a string of small rooms or areas with
encounters that'll throw waves of enemies at you with the
occasional boss thrown into the mix for good measure.
Encounters also feature the
occasional boss battle, which breaks up the gameplay a bit with challenging fights that require players to think to defeat large enemies with unique powers, as well as gameplay variations, like requiring players to reach the end of a stage to win as enemies respawn endlessly, or escorting vulnerable NPCs to checkpoints.

boss.
The
occasional deviation from all this comes with timed objectives and some reasonably entertaining
boss encounters, though little in the way of grand set pieces, whilst visually there's a somewhat low budget feel that doesn't really do anything to help matters.
