The only carbs we get are
from occasional potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, squash and other starchy vegetables, but NO grains.
I never really ate that much mayonnaise except for
the occasional potato salad in the summer or an egg or tuna sandwich.
Anyway, back to the 7 - 9 whole potatoes per day... Now I would never recommend going to those extremes, but my point is that
an occasional potato a couple times a week is not going to hurt your efforts to get lean, especially if you combine it with some other fibrous vegetables and maybe a healthy fat and some protein.
This includes weekly bone broth, eggs, liver, seafood, lots of leafy greens / salads / veggies including carrots / beets /
occasional potatoes, fermented foods, etc. (we live in Puget Sound so getting good food is easy).
I eat whole fruits (never juice) and veggies daily, and might have
an occasional potato or sweet potato once or twice a week.
(Even
the occasional potato chip you feed Rex or the munchies you think Tabitha may steal when you're not watching...) Also, include a list of symptoms your pet is experiencing such as where s / he is scratching, how frequent s / he displays the symptomatic behavior, the condition of the skin, etc..
This includes feeding leftovers from the table or tossing
him the occasional potato chip while you're sitting on the couch.
