Specifically, Defendants made false and / or misleading statements and / or failed to disclose that: (i) the Company was engaged in predatory lending practices that saddled subprime borrowers and / or those with poor or limited credit histories with high - interest rate debt that they could not repay; (ii) many
of the Company's customers were using Qudian - provided loans to repay their existing loans, thereby inflating the Company's revenues and active borrower numbers and increasing the likelihood
of defaults; (iii) the Company was providing online loans to college students despite a governmental ban on the practice; (iv) the Company was engaged overly aggressive and improper collection practices; (v) the Company had understated the number
of its non-performing loans in the Registration Statement and Prospectus; (vi) because
of the Company's improper lending, underwriting and collection practices it was subject to a heightened risk
of adverse actions by Chinese regulators; (vii) the Company's largest sales platform and strategic partner, Alipay, and Ant Financial, could unilaterally cap the APR for loans provided by Qudian; (viii) the Company had failed to implement necessary safeguards to protect customer data; (ix) data for nearly one million Company customers had been leaked for sale to the
black market, including names, addresses, phone numbers, loan information, accounts and, in some cases, passwords to CHIS, the state - backed higher -
education qualification verification institution in China, subjecting the Company to undisclosed risks

Black students are three times more likely to be suspended or expelled than white students, according to the
Education Department's Office for Civil Rights, and research in Texas found students who have been suspended are more likely to be held back a grade and drop out
of school entirely.

Blacks consistently score lower on IQ test than Whites or Asians regardless
of income level,
education, national origin, etc..
Black academic underperformance reflects racial bias in the provision
of public
education.
Over half
of black children in public primary and secondary schools are concentrated in the nation's twelve largest central city school districts, where the quality
of education is poor, and where whites constitute only about a quarter
of total enrollment.

educations, when the can afford it.

The churches» historic concern for
education initially focused on efforts to compensate for the exclusion
of blacks from access to elementary
education.
Robinson reminded us
of the original, authentically neo-Puritanical Oberlin: The only college in America at the time which offered a liberal
education to both
blacks and women, and the place where everyone — including the professors — both studied and did useful work.
The first agenda
of early
black American congregations and then
of emergent denominations included (1) the proclamation
of the gospel, (2) benevolences, (3)
education and, by the mid-19th century, (4) foreign missions.

None
of these businesses survive in the same organizational state as 150 years ago; some
of the names are only historical reminders, left after a century
of mergers and acquisitions; and many
of them have already put into place elaborate affirmative hiring policies, racial sensitivity training, and programs that underwrite
black education.
Afraid
of the slippery slope, afraid
of nuance, afraid
of anything other than a literal
black - and - white reading
of Scripture, afraid
of the breadth
of tradition within orthodox Christianity, afraid
of science, afraid
of education, afraid
of university, afraid
of Michael himself even.
A chapter called «Praxis and Solidarity» explores the push
of many in the church for a more direct relationship between theological
education and specific contexts and «underrepresented constituencies,» such as
blacks, women, Hispanics, Native Americans and Third World peoples.
The

of ten poor children beginning first grade will graduate from high school prepared for a real college
education --» real» meaning not majoring in «
black studies» or some other pseudo-discipline, and not dropping out in the first or second year.
Not that I am now a stranger, but that I was reared a stranger, because now I feel my «own people» are
black and brown and all the people
of color, and all those Christian gays and lesbians who struggle for acceptance — all those who know what it means to be discriminated against because
of who they are, where they were born, or how much money or
education they have.
There is racial inequity: less
of the overall resources are ending up in predominantly
black neighborhoods, which leads to compounding issues in many areas, be it health, law,
education... you get the idea.
