The aesthetic and psychological journeys Nevelson undertook in the years immediately following construction of The Bride
of the Black Moon resulted in the following exhibitions: Royal Voyage, 1956; The Forest, 1957; Moon Garden + One, 1958; and Sky Columns Presence, 1959.
The focal point of this exhibition was The Bride
of the Black Moon, a wooden sculpture standing three and a half feet high (this work, like much of Nevelson's production from the period, was later destroyed).

The film screening and discussion at the Vera List Center complement Black Moon / Hole Punches, a series of photographs that constitutes the third element
of the Black Moon works, several of which are currently featured in the exhibition Post-Speculation at P!
There she exhibited some of her most notable mid-century works: Bride
of the Black Moon, First Personage, and the exhibit «Moon Garden + One», which showed her first wall piece, Sky Cathedral, in 1958.

The Bible also says rabbits chew their cud, the earth is balanced on pillars, the earth is a flat disc, the stars are small ornaments hung up in the sky, which itself is nothing more than a
black sheet covering the world at night... it says the
moon gives off its own light, it says the world was created in 6 days less than 10,000 years ago... It says a lot
of things that aren't true.
Sun and
moon, planets and stars, pulsars and
black holes — as well as the planet earth — are to participate in that final consumption
of the redemption.
And in addition, you can't tell me definitively that the yellow,
black, and white striped 1000 year old, and 100 foot tall polka dotted vampire lady in
black stockings isn't alive and doesn't exist, speaking perfect English even though she has never visited our planet, on the dark side
of the
moon, and has never been seen by the golden crown
of creation, god's highest achievement, man, who dwelleths at the very epi - center
of the universe, surrounded on all four sides by the heavenly spheres and angels, and overseen by god in heaven bless her extensive gold threaded wardrobe.
They just didn't find evidence
of moon sized
black holes.
