Apart from overall quality, the chief differences between this film and Bruce Willis's franchise - starter are that a)
Cale spends much
of his time in the company
of the (notably game) president; and b) the villains are far less stylishly accoutered.
I totally get the «opposites attract» approach, but I found Knightley to be far beyond quirky (John
Cale and Leonard Cohen vinyl) and closer to her mentally unstable character in the first hour
of A Dangerous Method.
White House Down ends, customarily, with a pileup
of maudlin melodrama, in which
Cale's demonstration
of his value as a dad is deemed no less important than — indeed, is largely synonymous with — his ability to save the world.

All the elements in «I Shot Andy Warhol» work toward a con vincing tapestry: the original music by John
Cale, whose Velvet Underground was the house band for Warhol's Factory happenings, and the production design by Therese Deprez and costumes by David Robinson, which capture the indulgence and experimentation
of that period — nothing was outlawed except the familiar.
Cale and his little girl — not to mention the president, his staff, and a roomful
of nervous tourists — become the hostages
of a nasty crew
