The flavor
of the Coconut Water Kefir may take some adjusting to, especially if omitting the sugar.
For example, if using 1 tablespoon of apple pieces to flavor a 16oz bottle
of coconut water kefir, then only use 1 teaspoon of apple juice as it will be more potent.

of people have success with this, but typically you'll find dairy
kefir grains (which have some lactose in them and are best avoided if you are lactose intolerant) and

you can start a really vigorous gluten free starter culture without having to open a whole packet
of yeast for just a few grains by using a tablespoon or so
of a fermented drink — kombucha,
water kefir (Whole Foods carries a
coconut water kefir that is very active) or if you have access to real unpasteurized sauerkraut you could probably use some
of the liquid.

kefir grains in real milk for a week to get some growth then switch half
of them to
coconut milk for slow growth, or to

coconut water or (iv) try using 1/2 — 1 cup
of natural yoghurt or

kefir, unsweetened almond milk you will enhance the intake
of fluids and the taste
of your smoothies.

coconut palm and turbinado.
To boost levels
of good bacteria, you can take a probiotic supplement, or eat probiotic rich, fermented foods such as
water kefir, kimchee, sauerkraut, and unsweetened natural cultured
coconut yogurt.
You can use almost any kind
of milk to make your
kefir, and if you do use
water or
coconut milk (or
water) your
kefir will most likely be much thinner than if you use a milk.

coconut water is likely the best scenario according to Donna Gates, author
of The Body Ecology Diet given that you will obtain a
kefir that is rich in potassium and enzymes and contains sulphurated proteins that assist the body in cleansing.
