Men with a long duration of infertility (> 6 years) reported lower levels
of dyadic consensus and marital satisfaction than men with a shorter experience of infertility.
Four components
of dyadic synchrony were assessed during a structured mother - child interaction session.
Moreover, early adolescents from dyads with high levels
of dyadic synchrony and conversational equality had higher self - esteem.
When exposed to stressful life events, women in the ART group reported lower levels
of dyadic consensus [F (1,263) = 6.12, P < 0.01], dyadic cohesion, [F (1,263) = 5.05, P < 0.01] and marital satisfaction [F (1,263) = 3.84, P < 0.05], whereas among control women, the quality of marital relations was independent of stressful life events.
The seven - item short form
of the Dyadic Adjustment Scale: Further evidence for construct validity
Women in the ART group reported lower levels
of dyadic consensus and cohesion, marital satisfaction and sexual affection when exposed to stressful life events, whereas among control women, the quality of marital relations was independent of stressful life events.
Revisiting the children of twins: Can they be used to resolve the environmental effects
of dyadic parental treatment on child behavior?
Several years ago, Dr. Baylin began a collaborative relationship with Daniel Hughes, a leader in the field of attachment - focused therapy and the developer
of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy or DDP, a highly regarded model of treatment for maltreated children and their caregivers.
Our review of measures
of dyadic relationships within families revealed eight «well - established» measures: three self - report measures assessing marital relationships (MAT, DAS, and MSI - R), three self - report (CRPBI - 30, IPPA, IC), and one observational measure (CECS) of parent — child relationships, and one measure of sibling relationships (SRQ).
The final measure
of dyadic relationships, the Sibling Relationship Questionnaire (SRQ; Furman & Buhrmester, 1985), was designed to capture aspects of sibling relationships.
Change
of dyadic consensus among assisted reproductive technique (ART) and control women over the first year of parenting.
Eight measures assessing three types
of dyadic family relationships were reviewed: (a) marital / partner dyad (three measures); (b) parent — child dyads (four measures); and (c) sibling dyads (one measure).
In particular, as a new method for the analysis
of dyadic experience sampling data, we suggest that grid - sequence analysis will help identify new typologies of dyad - level microdynamics that indicate risk or protective factors that are useful for intervention efforts.
Results indicated that mother - child shared positive affect and conversational equality were highly intercorrelated components
of dyadic synchrony.
Grid - sequence analysis, by explicitly creating and working with the dyad - level time series, may provide for identification of distinct patterns
of dyadic function that are related to overall function.
When considering the results of the present study it should be noted that differences in parental assessment
of dyadic relationships emerged at the alpha level of p <.05 (when Bonferroni correction was applied, they sank below statistical significance).
It has been validated to detect clinically significant internalizing and externalizing child behavior traits.15, 16 Factors potentially associated with child sleep and behavior problems were assessed, including marital satisfaction (measured by the single - item version
of the Dyadic Adjustment Scale) 17 and parenting (measured by 3 study - designed, 4 - point global scales addressing day - to - day behavior, sleep issues, and parent cooperation).
Indeed, maternal and paternal PPD and its consequences have mostly been studied separately, leading to the construction
of dyadic models of the consequences of parental PPD, with linear transmission processes to the child entailed in separate mother — child or father — child relationships.
Three indices
of dyadic emotional flexibility, which exhibit good reliability and predictive validity (Granic et al. 2003; Hollenstein et al. 2004; Van der Giessen et al. 2015), were derived from GridWare.
According to theories of interpersonal relations, the addition of a third party has a considerable effect on the quality
of dyadic relationships (Heider, 1958; Simmel, 1950; Thibaut & Kelley, 1959).
The collection and analysis
of dyadic data present additional complexities compared to the study of individuals.
The aim of this article was to describe methods for the study
of dyadic processes related to sexual health.
Third, average duration (emotional rigidity) assessed the mean duration
of each dyadic expressed emotion.
These findings suggest a relative advantage of maritally satisfied couples with regard to use
of dyadic coping strategies to compensate for gender typical deficits in depressed partners.
This idea has led researchers to hypothesize that parent - child dyads with high emotional flexibility, who are able to flexibly shift in and out of a wide range
of dyadic emotions as the situation warrants, are adequately regulating their emotions, which is related to health and well - being (Granic 2005).
Adolescence is a developmental period characterized by the primary importance of peer relationships, and within the psychosocial literature, great attention has been devoted to the role
of dyadic friendships in youths» overall functioning.
Also, follow - up univariate ANOVAs using the subscales
of dyadic coping behavior showed no significant index person effects.
(In the same sample, the one item rating correlated.74 for men and.77 for women with the items
of the Dyadic Adjustment Scale without the overall rating item).
Since none of these studies investigated emotional expressivity as a real - time sequence
of dyadic emotions, one explanation for our results might be that the role of parents» and children's individual emotions in child anxiety has been overestimated.
They hypothesized that these variables indexed the quality
of dyadic interaction, and used a latent variable model to study the association of the couple - level variable with economic and employment stressors.
A revision
of the Dyadic Adjustment Scale for use with distressed and nondistressed couples: Construct hierarchy and multidimensional scales.
Relationship
of dyadic closeness with work - related stress: a daily diary study.
Examining these group differences with larger samples is necessary to increase our understanding of the role
of dyadic emotional processes for child anxiety.
Examining observed dyadic coping, significant multivariate group effects (Hotteling's Trace) for relative duration (rd)(F (3, 58) = 2.04, p ≤ 0.05) and relative frequency (rf)(F (3, 58) = 1.77, p ≤ 0.05)
of dyadic coping categories were found.
The DCI (Bodenmann, 2008) with 41 items (α = 0.92) is a self - report measure of the frequency (6 - point scale)
of dyadic coping that includes perceptions of own and partner stress communication and dyadic support (positive, negative and common dyadic coping).
In the current study, the two topic codes that were used to evaluate the content
of the dyadic interactions were «normative talk» and «deviant talk.»
To capture the emotional expressivity, we derived from GridWare the total duration in seconds
of dyadic positive affect and dyadic negative affect during father - child and mother - child interactions.
Therefore, a critical question remains whether there are differences between parent - child dyads with AD children and non-AD children in levels
of dyadic emotional expressivity (i.e., dyadic positive and negative affect).
First, transitions (emotional switching) assessed the number
of dyadic changes per minute between cells on the state space grid, and it was corrected for differences in total duration of the discussions.
Measures
of dyadic emotional expressivity (positive and negative affect) and dyadic emotional flexibility (transitions, dispersion, average duration) were derived from these interactions using state space grid analysis.
Research and clinical implications such as increasing the utilization
of dyadic analytical strategies and the importance of assessing illness burden from each partners» perspective are discussed.
Preliminary t - tests revealed no differences between children and adolescents in levels
of dyadic emotional expressivity and flexibility.
Marital adjustment was assessed at T1 using a modified version
of the Dyadic Adjustment Scale (DAS; Spanier, 1989).
There were, however, significant multivariate gender effects for relative frequency (F (1, 58) = 8.26, p ≤ 0.001) and relative duration (F (1, 58) = 2.72, p ≤ 0.05)
of dyadic coping behaviors.
The construction of safety within the therapeutic context appeared as an essential condition in the treatment process, especially for the case with a lower level
of dyadic adjustment.
To measure dyadic coping, the Questionnaire for the Assessment
of Dyadic Coping (QADC) was developed.
(2) If attachment patterns reflect relationship characteristics rather than traits in the child, one would expect that characteristics
of dyadic interaction would be associated with patterns of attachment.
Another central element
of dyadic developmental psychotherapy is the affective - reflective dialogue.
This option can work for couples who have various sexual incompatibilities, and for couples who simply don't believe that fidelity — faithful commitment to a partner — is the same as monogamy, people who believe that having multiple sexual and / or romantic partners at the same time enriches their lives and the quality
of their dyadic relationships.
ssment
of Dyadic Coping (QADC) was developed.
