Considering the last released side - scrolling Castlevania game was Order
of Ecclesia back in 2008, another handheld side - scrolling Castlevania adventure seems likely at this point (probably in tandem with Lords of Shadow being developed for consoles).
Built by the artful hands at WayForward — makers of Shantae: Risky's Revenge, Batman: The Brave and the Bold and a handful of other really good - looking 2D games — Infestation does its best to fill the action / adventure gap left open since 2008's Castlevania: Order
of Ecclesia.
When the news came to my ears that a brand new 2D Castlevania for an actual home console was on the way, my heart leapt — aside from a couple of ports and remakes of classic titles it's been two years since the somewhat disappointing Order
