According to the Efficiency Alberta website, «all products being installed are Ecofitt branded products, with the exception
of the Ecobee thermostat.»
Then, a code will appear on the screen
of the Ecobee.
This new version
of the ecobee thermostat seems to have a redesigned set of industrial design outer bits, too.
In other words,
some of Ecobee's devices can now be voice controlled via Goole Assistant so you can check and adjust your home temperature, for instance.
Fans
of Ecobee's Wi - Fi smart thermostat will have to shell out more cash for the upgraded Ecobee3, but for some, HomeKit integration will be worth paying for.
The changes will come into effect for
all of Ecobee's smart thermostats installed in homes across the US and Canada.

of Ecobee Plus is the clunky nomenclature: Every command requires you to start with, «Alexa, ask Ecobee to...» The original Ecobee skill (which is still available) lets you simply say, «Alexa, set the thermostat to 68 °F.»

of the house where the temperature needs to be perfect, I can tell the
Ecobee to only use the sensor in the bedroom for its temperature reading.
By logging into the
Ecobee's web interface, you can view a detailed history
of how you're using your thermostat, like when it turns on and off and how long it's on for.
Are you saying that the
ecobee won't do any
of the things you mention through Alexa or that it won't do them period?
Ecobee is expanding on its smart home offerings with the introduction
of an Alexa - enabled light switch, the Smart Switch Plus, which was revealed at this year's South by Southwest Conference (SXSW) in Austin.
Those are big names to be sure, but if your smart home is based on products from
Ecobee, LIFX, iDevices, Iris by Lowe's, TP - Link, C by GE, Chamberlain, Vivint Smart Home, Wemo, Dish Network, or any
of a long list
of other products or service providers, then you'll have to wait for Cortana to catch up.

of the same systems) because it is less expensive.
Compare that with the Nest and the
Ecobee, which both work with a bevy

of switches and light bulbs to pick from, then one choice at most for more advanced functionality — the Schlage lock and the
Ecobee thermostat.
