I never said or thought that you, or any of the posters on
any of the free grace blogs, «disparage Christ's deity, His crosswork, or His resurrection.»
The basis
of the Free Grace position is clarification, specificity, clarity, and precision in what actually the terms of eternal life are.
Lately, I have felt the need to get more bible education, and I have been looking at
some of the Free Grace Seminaries, including our friend Tim at Rocky Mountain.
I highly herald it, as does each advocate
of Free Grace theology, focusing very hard on it in evangelism, as each advocate
of Free Grace theology does.
This is where the misconceptions
of the Free Grace position come into play.
In spite of the fact that the original Reformers — particularly Luther — began the movement with a liberating rediscovery
of free grace and dying love, their successors... rapidly obscured that liberty by scholasticizing the stuffing out of it.
As a result of the above, the necessity of the doctrine
of the free grace of God becomes apparent (not only from the above logic, but from Scripture itself).

As Robert Chiles pointed out, during the nineteenth century, American Methodism as a whole shifted from Wesley's teaching
of free grace to an emphasis on the freedom of the will.
I can't speak for Neil Cole, but I know that Anabaptist ideas and teachings are somewhat in the background
of Free Grace churches.
One must also understand the Wesleyan movement as preaching a gospel
of free grace that at times sounds very much like the Reformation theme of «justification by faith.»

The gospel
of God's
grace in Jesus Christ
frees the Christian from both these erroneous tendencies but only if Christians respectfully strive to follow God's commandments and practice agape love.
We are saved by God's
grace, but we are given
free will to choose good and evil... otherwise anyone from Hitler to Stalin could
of said the same words and say I can lie, cheat, steal, and kill right up to the end and be saved... sorry, it doesn't work that way.
He means that if
free will first existed on its own and subsequently encountered God's
grace, then
free will might collide with
grace, but in fact our being
free at all is itself a gift
of God's
grace, and so there is no possible antagonism between the two.

Lent is a period in our life to remember the suffering
of Jesus who never sinned, he came to this world to
free us from sin and to be the children
of god not only by law but also by

The concept
of once saved always saved takes a bit to get your head around but Gods
grace is greater than our sin and greater than our good works it just takes faith in Jesus Christ to recieve Gods
grace.In saying that to continue to sin as a christian is like playing with fire you will be burnt.Paul talks

of the son and father that were sleeping with the same wife they were excommunicated from the church the members were not allowed to even eat with them until they repented.There are consequences for our actions.The other side to this is that if you continue to sin as a christian you are not walking by faith but walking by the flesh and are really backsliding.In the backslidden state you also become powerless and open to attack by satan as long as we walk in the flesh he can influence us to get worse not better.If we are walking in Christ satan may still try to tempt us but we are empowered by the holy spirit and overcome him and our faith increases.Both are saved by

of sin versus saved but an overcomer having been set

free grace, we must plant churches.
Maybe include the

of Graces Calendar, a space to write down joy everyday?
We may easily give up on each other and believe ourselves incapable
of the call to holiness; but God never ceases to call us and to offer us his

And you know what, after my revelation
of GRACE last year which absolutely set me
free from «performance Christianity» God told me that, regardless
of what «scriptures» people threw at me, what He was telling me directly to my heart, that He has made me perfectly righteous by the blood
of His son regardless
of what I do or don't do, I must trust His voice in my heart, more than the printed «Word» which has been bended, bent, misterpreted and mistaught.
Free will is aoubt making choices and some
of these choices have consequences for ourselves and others, we have to live with these and through prayer we are proveded with the
graces and relationship from God that enables us to do so.
Karl Rahner, for example, states: «The leisure
of the Muse is
free fall, the unplanned and unpredictable, confident surrender to the uncontrollable forces
of existence, waiting for the irruption
of the incalculable gift, the reception
of grace, the aimless but meaningless hour» (Theological Investigations, trans.
And there are ways in which God's actions upon us still leave us
free, such as our acceptance or rejection
of grace.
