It is common for
producers of ionic silver solutions to interchangeably use the terms silver particles and ions in an attempt to blur the distinction between these two entirely different entities.
This colloidal silver generator is promoted using TEM
images of ionic silver which we believe generates misleading particle size data.
Many producers
of ionic silver products (masquerading as colloidal silver) use images produced by a Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) to show what they claim are silver particles in their products.
Actually the term is incorrect because the preponderance of silver in the water is in the
form of ionic silver which are single atoms of silver which are missing one electron in the outer ring.
Nevertheless, no free silver ions were detected in the supernatant of cell culture media, probably due to precipitation
of ionic silver in form of AgCl and protein complexes.
ASAP colloidal silver products are different than other colloidal silver products on the market due to its patented manufacturing process which yields roughly 96 % elemental silver particles versus a high percentage
of ionic silver particles (where one or two electrons have been stripped off of the silver atom) typically found in colloidal silver products.

An industry group, the Silver Nanotechnology Working Group, said that there has been a long history of safe, regulated
use of ionic silver, which «suggests that the EPA is adequately managing the risks of silver nanoparticles.»
Therefore, in our case this could mean that either the different types of nanosilver are related to different release
rates of ionic silver from the various different coated NP.
Many of the colloidal silver products on the market are a
blend of ionic silver and suspensions of pure metallic silver in water.
Concentrations over the saturation
point of Ionic Silver in water [~ 10 PPM] will progressively and variably form more and more non-conductive «particles» accounting for some of the difference between Faraday Equation Prediction vs Conductivity Monitoring.
The study clearly shows that the
effectiveness of the ionic silver product was substantially reduced as a result of being exposed to stomach acid while the colloidal silver product remained effective against the bacteria.
Any attempt to make claims about detrimental effects
of of ionic silver (there are no detrimental effects known) would also apply to the product they are trying to promote.
There will most certainly be some formation of AgCl upon the
ingestion of ionic silver due to the large amounts of chloride ions available within the stomach.

As calibrated from the factory the TDS meters will normally read only about one half the
PPM of ionic silver that the PWT meter will read.
Bacteriology
Studies of Ionic Silver are Bogus - Many ionic silver products are promoted using in vitro tests that claim to prove their effectiveness against bacteria and other pathogens.
Some hypothesize that upon drinking colloidal silver,
much of the ionic silver bonds with chlorides in the stomach to form silver chloride.
Others hypothesize that a small
amount of ionic silver is surrounded by special proteins (metalloproteins) in saliva, and is thus protected from contact with reactive substances when first ingested.
