Membership Rewards can be redeemed as a statement credit against travel, similar to the Scotiabank American Express card, however, the rate for this is 100 Membership Rewards = $ 1 towards travel, and is a poor use
of Membership Rewards.
If anything, this change increases the value of Starwood points (as they have more partners) and decreases the value
of Membership Rewards points.
With the Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express being the exception, most
of the Membership Rewards charge and credit cards don't have bonus points for spending outside of using the Amex Travel Website.
