After a few weeks
of eating
peaches plain, with yogurt and on oatmeal, I developed quite a craving for
peach cobbler with ice cream.
I created the crust for our raw Napoleons through experimentation, basing the list
of ingredients on the recipes
of raw
peach cobbler and one
of my favourite crackers.
One
of the most troubling peculiarities
of my family is that no one else shares my fruit - filled obsession, and while I'm not against making an individual
peach cobbler just for myself (brilliant, so brilliant) its just not as fun as enjoying it with someone else.
As much as we all love fruit pies,
cobblers and cakes, perfectly juicy fruit (
peaches, rosy berries, taut cherries) is often better left naked and raw, maybe spooned onto a scoop
of ice cream, a buttery shortcake biscuit or a slice
of poundcake to add a sweet and luscious note.
