Lembeh is home to many species
of Pipefish, all beautiful and interesting in their own way.
Lembeh's Divesite Police Pier is known for its plethora
of Pipefish (alongside it's spawning Mandarinfish and fantastic Frogfish population).
Boasting a vast high - rise coral skyline, at this site you will also be able to see hundreds
of pipefish, seahorses, barracudas, ribbon eels and triggerfish!
But in some species, the sex roles are reversed and males carry the brood, as in the case
of pipefish and other members of the Syngnathus family like the seahorse.

pipefish, frogfish, crabs, shrimps and loads
of nudibranch.
The muck diving extravaganza was rounded out by a pygmy seahorse; ornate ghost
pipefish; critters and crustaceans
of all kinds.
As it turns out, a whole generation
of Banded
Pipefish was spared!
This week one

Pipefish found itself in a slightly awkward situation when it got a bit to close to a hungry Ribbon Eel.

Here, among the twisted remains
of small war wrecks and discarded ordinance, divers can find banded
pipefish, crocodile fish, nudibranchs
of all sizes and colors, schools
of glassfish, mandarin fish and more.
Roma at Wakatobi combines fish life with enigmatic turbinaria coral formations, while the nearby House Reef is one
of the best places in the world to find crocodile fish, leaf scorpionfish, ghost and Halimeda
pipefish.
For underwater photographers, the National Park offers unparalleled opportunities to shoot both macro and wide angle underwater photographs
of subjects as diverse as nudibranchs, coral gardens, frogfish, soft corals, ornate ghost
pipefish, sharks, schooling fish, and a whole lot more!
Manta shrimp, ghost
pipefish, and pygmy seahorses are only a few examples
of what you may find.
Beneath these wood structures we found frogfish, blue ringed octopus, pairs
of ghost
pipefish, and a flamboyant cuttle fish hunting!
By the time our 3 days were up, our minds would be full
of the memories
of sightings
of seahorses, barracuda, moray eels, ghost
pipefish and vibrant colourful reef life!
And here are few names
of the creatures you might find here in the Gilis: A large variety
of Mantis shrimps, different kinds
of Pipefishes including the Ornate and Robust ghost
pipefish, frogfish, a very large variety
of shrimps and crabs and if you're lucky you might see the boxer crab or the well sought harlequin shrimp, the famous seahorses and the Pygmy seahorses, normal Scorpionfishes, leaf scorpionfishes and even the rare Rhinopia which has found itself a home on our dive site called «Turtle Heaven».
At the moment we know exactly where to find pygmy seahorses, ornate ghost
pipefish, stargazer, frogfish and more incredible marine life such as the flamboyant cuttlefish (that we named animal
of the month in march) and the blue ringed octopus.

You will spend most
of the time in and around a series
of rocky patches where you are also likely to see cuttlefish, ribbon eels, cockatoo leaf fish and various
pipefish.
There we sighted a number
of interesting things including a mantis shrimp, slender stick
pipefish, moray eels, and a devil scorpionfish.
The structures attract all sorts
of life like Snappers, Puffers, Ghost
Pipefish, Nudibranchs and so on.
With many black sand beaches along the Amed coast, we have exceptional critter diving - many species
of nudibranchs, seahorses, ghost
pipefish and frogfish, along with weird and wonderful
pipefish, sea moths, octopus and cuttlefish, shrimps
of all shapes and sizes..
We are still exploring and have already found many seahorses, frogfish, ghost
pipefish, mantis shrimp, nudibranchs,
pipefish, a variety
of shrimp and other crustaceans, saddleback anemonefish, long horned cowfish and much more.
At the northern tip
of Cebu the small island
of Malapascua is famous for thresher sharks, but also delivers walls, spectacular soft coral growths and a diverse roster
of marine life that includes batfish, flutemouth, barracuda, tuna, mantis shrimp,
pipefish, scorpionfish, lionfish, Moorish idols, schooling bannerfish, unicorn fish, squid, octopus and various moray eels.
Snappers, Groupers, Barracuda, and occasional visits from Black tip reef sharks are some
of the bigger things at the wreck, if you are interested in macro the wreck has Ghost
Pipefish, Nudibranchs, Leaf fish and tones
of other little critters.
All in all a great week with some awesome life underwater with ornate ghost
pipefish, turtles, frogfish, mantis shrimp, Barracuda's, orangutan crabs, a whole load
of fun and bubbles in between.
Nudibranchs, multiple species
of ghost
pipefish, pygmy cuttlefish, frogfish, boxer crabs, seahorses... the list goes on and on.
Also, I glimpsed some
of the most amazing creatures that must exist in the ocean — an ornate ghost
pipefish and a pygmy sea horse (half the size
of a finger nail and symbiotically bonded with the coral to make them almost invisible!).
Macro enthusiasts will be equally impressed as the region is plentiful with nudibranchs, clown frogfish, ghost
pipefish, ribbon eels, a variety
of lobsters, crabs, and shrimp.
However at night a different world comes to live, a world where you will see Spanish dancers, the school
of huge Bumphead parrotfish in their sleeping cocoons, Flashlight fish, Bobtail squid, sea moths, ghost
pipefish, cuttlefish, starry night octopus, mimic octopus and different kinds
of nudibranchs!
As well as hundreds
of strange and wonderful tiny critters, you can see flamboyant gobies and cuttlefish, jawfish, the more unusual leaffish, grey frogfish and ghost
pipefish, hawkfish, crocodilefish and
of course, many colourful mandarinfish which give this site its name.
