Unfortunately but not unexpectedly, be it the because the characters are less likeable, the jokes not as well written, or simply because the very idea
of a The Hangover Part II is just so implausible, this darker, dirtier, nastier follow up, although still generally funny, does not hold a candle to its predecessor.

Bridesmaids is one of the few comedies coming up in this summer of big - budget blockbusters and it looks like it's going to be a decent estrogen - infused counterpart to the off - the - wall guy humor
of The Hangover Part II.

I am well aware
of the
hangover of vague religiosity which wants to maintain some such «immortality
of the soul», as if there were
part of each
of us, and the most important
part, that did not undergo death.
They started a bit sluggish, clearly a case
of a Championship
hangover, but have gotten going here in the middle
part of the season..
Forgive the bluntness, but this really needs to sink in: Californians are hurting, frankly in large
part as a result
of the
hangover created by the Republican's reliance on market deregulation and their undying faith in the good will
of Wall Street CEOs.
The Bush 2
hangover??? Well, the fiscal cliff is made up largely
of the 2001 - 02 tax cuts; the unpaid two wars in Muslim countries costing over $ 1 trillion, and growing; the unpaid Medicare
Part D prescription program, which can threaten Medicaid's survival; the failed attempt to privatize Social Security; and
of course, the 2008 financial - Wall St. meltdown.
Primate «actors» have been featured in major Hollywood films such as The
Hangover Part II, The Wolf
of Wall Street and Babe: Pig in the City.
My favourite
part of this though is showing others how delicious these healthy alternatives can be and how we don't have to suffer from the ill effects
of a sugar coma, food
hangover or bloating when we eat them.
It's worth noting that The
Hangover:
Part II gets off to an unexpectedly entertaining start, as the movie is, at the outset, concerned with the easygoing exploits
of the central characters - with the affable atmosphere heightened by the palpable chemistry between the three protagonists.
The lifeless vibe persists for much
of the movie's overlong running time, and although the return to Vegas towards the end is kind
of amusing, The
Hangover:
Part III has long - since established itself as a predictably pointless closer to a consistently half - baked franchise (ie it's saying something that this is the least objectionable installment in the series).
(All three
of these films have fared especially poorly in terms
of laughs, but The
Hangover:
Part III's cruel streak, particularly towards animals, ensures that the viewer sits stone - faced throughout.)
While I hate this genre
of film, fans go to be grossed out, freaked out, and generally shocked by the characters behavior and
Hangover Part III is far too tame.
Search Party has strong shades
of The
Hangover, which seems appropriate enough considering Armstrong wrote The
Hangover Part II.
Wedding bells threaten to break up three best friends» long - running bromance, but they aren't going down without a fight in Search Party, the directing debut
of screenwriter Scot Armstrong (The
Hangover Part II, Old School).
The Heat stars Sandra Bullock (Gravity) and Melissa McCarthy (The
Hangover Part III) as the most unlikely buddy cop duo to hit the streets
of Boston.
There've been so many
Hangover knockoffs since then (including
Hangover Part II) that the premise doesn't feel so fresh, but the trailer gets in a couple
of amusing jokes.
In other troublesome news, both Napoleon Dynamite and The
Hangover Part II are in the midst
of courtroom battles, the Napoleon Dynamite production company duking it out with Fox Searchlight and Warner Bros. facing a lawsuit from an injured stunt double.
What You Need To Know: Seth Gordon, the filmmaker behind «Horrible Bosses» directs, Craig Mazin, one
of the main writers on «The
Hangover Part II &
Part III» penned the script, and the comedy is essentially a two - hander between Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy, so you probably already have some idea
of what to expect here.
In between befriending and taking advantage
of Mayor Carmine Polito (Jeremy Renner, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters) Irving has to deal with the attentions
of his bored wife (Jennifer Lawrence, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) and Edith has to deal with those
of their FBI contact, Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper, The
Hangover Part III).

Fans had a lot
of problems with The
Hangover Part II, but nothing seemed to bother people more than how similar the plot was to the original.
The idea
of «obviously» envisioning a comedy as
part of a trilogy is a little bizarre, since there are very, very few examples
of successful comedy trilogies and there's nothing in the original
Hangover that looks like they're really setting things up for a sequel

Making a great film doesn't always translate to big box office numbers, so what does it mean to you to be a
part of the highly successful The
Hangover franchise?
Jump ahead to the present and, with its release only a few months out, the first trailer and first poster for The
Hangover Part III finally saw the light
of day this week.
If Project X was a brand consolidator and The
Hangover Part II was a morbidly curious recalibration
of its predecessor, displacing Phillips's demonic impulses and scarcely controlled misogynist rage from Bradley Cooper's Phil to Ed Helms's Stu,
Part III is an actors» contract negotiation sputtered to life.
It did remind me
of the shenanigans in the «The
Hangover Part 2» similar to the guys running around in Thailand except no fingers were cut off... in Ecuador, Amy has a disgusting tapeworm that is hand extracted, and a bad guy gets stabbed with a harpoon.
While it pales in comparison to the raunchy wit
of the original, «The
Hangover Part III» boasts enough laughs to remember why we liked the first film so much.

I saw The
Hangover Part II as a complete rehash
of the original to the point that boredom / apathy sat in while I watched Bradley Cooper and Co. gallivant their way through Bangkok.
All recommendations aside, this week's Top 5 features a healthy portion
of Iron Man 3 coverage (including the new trailer), Oz the Great and Powerful interviews with Sam Raimi, James Franco, Mila Kunis, and more, the first trailer for The
Hangover Part III, a sizable Justice League movie rumor, and the new trailer and poster for Will Smith and Jaden Smith «s After Earth.
Keep an eye out for some key release date swaps involving two Steven Spielberg projects as well as news
of yet another legal woe involving The
Hangover Part II.
When first we met Zach Galifianakis on the set
of Warner Bros.» The
Hangover Part III, he was crashing into a stack
of crates and sending cockfighting roosters into a tizzy.
Why We're Excited About It: Though last year's The
Hangover Part II left something to be desired, Todd Phillips and co. have promised an entirely different sort
of film for the third entry in the comedy franchise.
