of my dinner parties.
You really have to like the taste
of raw garlic to like this recipe for
Tzatziki sauce.
So, after picking up some
of the yogurt, I headed into the kitchen last night to try out their Greek Turkey Burger Recipe with Homemade
Tzatziki sauce.
ingredients SPICY ORANGE GLAZED CHICKEN THIGHS: 1 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed) zest
of 1 orange 2 tablespoons honey 2 teaspoons hot
sauce 2 teaspoons thyme (leaves only, finely chopped) 8 chicken thighs (bone in, skin - on) 1/4 cup parsley (finely chopped, to garnish) 1/2 cup store - bought
tzatziki (to garnish) Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper (to taste) SHAVED CARROT SALAD: 1 orange 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard 1/2 cup olive oil 6 cups mixed greens 4 large carrots (peeled, shaved into long strips) 1 cup feta cheese (crumbled) Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
Among our staple weeknight dinners: — Your pasta with chickpea

of tzatziki — Various stirfries — «Big salads» — my husband likes them more than me, but our most common version is a southwestern style, with black beans, avocado, tomato, greens, a little leftover chicken.
I finally got my hands on a container
of plain, unsweetened soy yogurt (it's always sold out when I go to the grocery store) so whipping up my favourite vegan
tzatziki recipe finally became a reality and the perfect
sauce for these vegan wraps.
To make vegan
tzatziki sauce it's simply a question
of combining any type
of unsweetened plain vegan yogurt with grated cucumber, chopped dill, minced garlic and lemon juice.
It's quick, easy, cheap, can be baked, packs flavor, packs quinoa, protein, savory with a hint
of mint, the
tzatziki sauce can be used for countless other dishes, the pickled red onion adds a sour flavor dimension, can be made in bulk and frozen, and is non vegan approved!
And top things off with lots
of fresh herbs, maybe a bit
of cheese, a few olives, pesto,
tzatziki sauce, nuts and seeds.
Of course
tzatziki is the preferred
sauce to garnish with and we have included one below as well as here.
For these I used a toasted flatbread and placed the meatballs inside
of them topped with the
Tzatziki Sauce.
Note: I found the turkey meatball recipe over on Skinny Taste and she also had a
tzatziki sauce recipe, but I'm a huge fan
of Elly's recipe so I stuck with that.
You can certainly use tahini
sauce or hummus instead
of vegan
tzatziki, but I encourage whipping some up if you can access plain non-dairy yogurt.
But... since I'm staying clear
of breads, I enjoy these patties with some heirloom tomatoes and a side
of plain yogurt or this Easy
Tzatziki Sauce instead.
They're served on a bed
of Greek salad and topped with a generous dollop
tzatziki sauce.
