Reports of cruel and humiliating punishment, genital mutilation of girls, neglect, sexual abuse, homicide, and other
forms of violence against children have long been recorded, but the grave and urgent nature of this global problem has only recently been revealed.
The United Nations in its
study of Violence Against Children includes 5 environments where this violence is exercised, hereafter we will focus on the school environment to be the most interests us in this day of Non-Violence and Peace School.
Especially as according to the Office for National Statistics, The Crime Survey for England & Wales estimates that there were around 373,000
incidents of violence against children aged 10 to 15 between 2014 and 2015.
Such factors include evidence of violence or
threats of violence against the child, emotional harm, a child's request to limit or deny visits, a non-custodial parent's mental illness or substance abuse, the emotional damage caused by visiting a parent in jail or a parent's threats to abduct the child.
The irony is that unthinking members of this community fan the flames of injustice and contribute to the most unspeakable
kinds of violence against children, that of PA / PAS.
