My most recent quest is to understand the art
of Ayurvedic cooking and nutrition and to practice
yoga, whilst researching for my next
book.
I perused downloadable
yoga videos and consulted feel - good
book club
books like How to Heal Your Life and Way
of the Peaceful Warrior.
Then I chose the notions that appealed the most:
yoga videos, raw food recipes,
booking a massage, and a full - service haircut complete with mimosa for the final day
of my retreat.

I know there are other
books out there for fathers but I think this one really has it all with its combination
of yoga, breathing and birthing simulation exercises, nitty - gritty info on every step
of the birthing process as well as the deeply spiritual and emotional sides
of being the attendant father.

Some days I avoid burnout by going to
yoga, taking the dog for an extra long walk, having one more cup
of tea, pouring over some textile or fashion
books on the couch, making myself a lovely little lunch, meeting my son after school for some ice - cream, and having a great family dinner in the evening.
Holistic Midwifery is not likely a
book the average expectant mother needs to read, but since I know that this blog also gets prenatal
yoga teachers, doulas and childbirth educators browsing through, I thought it would be irresponsible
of me to leave this
book off the list.
