of a critique group where one of the members played God.

of myself as «a writer» was having a
critique group where i was expected to show up every week with something written.
In the past I've had writing
groups and
critique groups where I was anonymous (great for developing thick skin towards criticism) and prompt
groups... All those people are a part
of my path to publication.
It took my
critique group pointing out errors and explaining them to get me a grasp
of where I'd foundered and why.
