We've been sleeping more than usual (I actually went to
bed with Matthew at 7 pm earlier this week, waking only long enough to scarf down a tiny bowl
of pasta for dinner before drifting off to la - la - land again), eating our collective weight in local ice cream, and touring small, nearby towns in the afternoons before heading back to the cottage for happy hour
snack time.

My best innovation yet is the
bed time snack, which actually was part
of night weaning.
To make sure you keep up your supply at night, I'd add a bowl
of oatmeal as a bedtime
snack (it can be instant — it doesn't have to be the kind you cook on top
of the stove) and add in a pumping session right before you go to
bed (you can pump and eat oatmeal at the same
time) and right after her first morning feed.
As a person with kidney disease having to take dialysis three days a week, she cleaned people's houses in the «nice neighborhoods» part -
time while taking care
of my siblings and I full -
time, making sure we always had a full breakfast, a packed lunch for school, a
snack waiting for us when we returned home and dinner before off to
bed.
So, avoiding a protein heavy
bed time snack and opting for some tea with sugar or honey would be a great way to help you relax and to get the sleep enhancing effects
of sugar.

Things like: You can't just watch the exercise video while having your afternoon
snack of cheese puffs and Snickerdoodles, going a full mile on your exercise bike in just under 4 hours because you had to stop three
times for an ice cream break, and getting up at midnight to finish off the leftover lasagna because you were so hungry when you went to
bed, will really dive bomb your efforts no matter how sincere you may be.
