bedtime or beyond the few hours
of energy that a venti mocha might afford, don't bother.

If a child knows what happens before nap time and
bedtime, fighting off sleep may be less
of a
problem in structured households than in homes where parents are always changing things up.
Overall, however, if you have a base
of good habits and an established
bedtime routine, temporary
problems don't have to permanently derail sleeping through the night.
By focusing heavily on the
bedtime routine, you may avoid those middle -
of - the - night
problems altogether.

While children can adjust to different rules, common rules about the big issues like
bedtimes and use
of electronic devices might help prevent
problems
Randomized controlled trials have demonstrated that teaching parents to use graduated extinction (i.e., parent checks on and comforts their infant at increasing time intervals but leaves the room before the infant falls asleep) or adult fading (i.e., a parent places a camp bed or chair next to their infant's cot, pats their infant to sleep for the first few nights, then gradually moves their camp bed or chair out

of people living in industrialized countries suggest that young children who lack regular

Using the SDQ total difficulties scale, before adjustment for confounders,
bedtime / reading / play at 3 years and
bedtime / reading at 5 years were associated with lower risks
of behaviour
problems in girls (Table 5); after adjustment, there were no statistically significant associations for either boys or girls (Fig 3).
