I took a picture
of this black bird that was sitting on the rocks near us.
The area attracts numerous song birds, and the air is often filled with the sound
of black birds, warblers and other species known for their musicality.

For O'Connor's installation at Tinney Contemporary, entitled «Ceiling
of Black Birds,» she knew she wanted to make something out of paper, but as is the case with so much of her work, the specific concept came to her in a dream.
