As a nod to our almost - Halloween posting date this month, the Career Collective (a community
of blogging career coaches, resume writers and other career experts) is writing about how to avoid «scary» career mistakes and how to make sure your career «costume» fits you.
Starting an email list is possibly the most important thing to do in the beginning
of your blogging career.
As the first recipient in 2015, I can tell you first hand that winning this contest was the highlight
of my blogging career and definitely one of the most exciting experiences of my life.
I spent the first few years
of my blogging career saying Marco, without getting many Polos in return, until I won a contest run by uberblogger and then - Curtis Brown agent, Nathan Bransford.
Now, I want you to know that our table has since moved from our kitchen to our living area, but this is still one of my favorite (and most affordable) tablescapes in the last 5 years
of my blogging career.

I'm convinced that by the end
of my blogging career, the number of brownie recipes on my site will be in the double digits.
Firstly I have to add that viewing a screening with my kids is the ultimate of proud moments
of a blogging career.
I've known the guys over at Vivo Life since the start

blogging website where people could share their adventures, to his current practice
of handing new employees a boss blueprint.
At times I really felt my passion
of blogging reduced to a
career so cheesy that I questioned its future.

blogging or tweeting about her personal experiences, speaking out puts you in the direct path
of the opinion juggernaut which
careers headlong into anyone who dares to take a stand on either side
of the polarised infant feeding debate.
Blogging is often seen as a waste
of time at major research universities, where those seeking tenured positions «progress in their
careers based on their research output.
At least two conferences during the past year on how the Web is changing science — ScienceOnline2011 and Science Online London 2010 — have included discussions
of the
career impacts
of blogging.
John Harrison — a pseudonym used to keep his comments in this article from harming his
career — says a former adviser's concern that
blogging was taking too much time away from research was «a big part
of» why he quit his Ph.D. program.
Along with
blogging at Hawk Eye View, (which, by the way, she launched when she was a mere 13 years old) she's in the process
of developing a music
career as a singer / songwriter.
A few weeks ago I was talking to a fellow blogger about my grapples
of quitting my
career to fulfil my dreams
of blogging full time & being self employed versus not wanting to quit a
career i've worked so hard to build and achieve success in... and she said something that got me thinking.
You told me you loved
careers and
blogging tips, you loved the everyday outfit posts and actually it turns out I had two types
of readers (put simply, those that want style advice, other bloggers looking for tips)!
In subsequent weeks, I will like to share goal setting techniques that have worked in all areas
of my life: personal,
career, relationship,
blogging, etc..
I started my blog a couple
of months ago and now I'm a bit more into the swing
of it I want to start looking at how to improve and what I want to achieve, so there's loads for me to think about here:) My favourite posts

career tips — particularly when you combine outfit photos with writing about work /
career!
Just some food for thought about the behind the scenes
of blogging because I think it is a
career not many people fully understand, and I didn't either until I joined the
blogging community this year.
I've shifted from daily outfits to a hub
of daily content that aims to inspire, inform and motivate, covering everything from
careers &
blogging advice, to personal style and travel.
In the popular imagination,
blogging has become a viable
career path with legions
of aspirants.
Perhaps bloggers from different stages in their
careers will be trailed to show what they do or even put them into a competition to gain a grant / sign with a big agency / work on big projects etc. «Fashion
blogging» is essentially real people working in a new area
of an industry which transfers well to the reality TV market.
I don't have any drastic plans for change, my new interiors section is something I'm really enjoying sharing with you, my
blogging and
careers tips are something I want to share a little more
of, and fashion and travel will continue to be the back bone
of my site.
Fashion and
blogging are both my hobby and
career, but this chronicle is a reminder that conservation and resourcefulness is something I need to continually think about, both inside and outside
of my closet.
Five years ago, who would have thought someone could make a viable and profitable
career out
of... well... fashion
blogging?
Since starting a year ago, I've learned first - hand that
blogging is a full - time
career that takes a lot
of effort and you need the right tools to succeed.
I think it's wonderful that you have a
career outside
of blogging too.
Nobody really plans to make a full
career out
of fashion
blogging.
The aspects
of blogging that matter the most are my enjoyment
of this hobby (possible
career path...), everything I've learned along the way (like elements
of HTML / CSS, the community
of blogging, photography, digital marketing, and
of course, the world
of fashion and style), and also a deep appreciation I have for the readers who support my interests as well as the blogger friendships I've established (online, and in - person).
Never in a million years could I have imagined a life, a passion, and a potential
career on it's heels from the world
of blogging - but I've found all
of that and more, plus a lot
of inspiring friends!
Phil has been so supportive in my
blogging career (he's my main photographer) so it was fun to do a shoot with him in front
of the lens for once.
From luxe travel, to seasonal style inspiration, to
blogging and
career advice, mediamarmalade is a hub
of daily inspiration, motivational content, advice and tips, guiding your journey to sartorial, life &
career success!
Yet here we are 5 years later, with the
blogging industry a lucrative business in it's own right, and bloggers and influencers making
careers out
of their creative passions and hobbies.

Given today is Bastille Day and I have had a tradition
of sharing a French post in my
blogging career, I thought I should hit publish on this photo diary which had otherwise sat in my drafted file for over six months.
I have learned a couple
of things in my
blogging career though and my best advice is to just get started.

career.
I used
blogging both as a platform to launch my nascent writing
career and as my main way to connect with people / showcase my writing (especially after five years
of blogging).
