I know this is slightly off topic but the major thing that has bothered me about ebooks is the lack
of blurb.
You don't know right now today how many readers you're losing because
of your blurb.

of blurb, I will have to take a look, yes we do tend to try and make it as difficult as possible for ourselves!
If you write a draft
of your blurb, get an objective party who has at least a basic understanding of marketing.
You should also include an enticing paragraph
of blurb «selling» your book, a bit about yourself and any writing credits you have (such as published short stories), and something on your «platform» — i.e. your existing (online) audience, if you have one.
Think
of your blurb as the map of your book.
Also, look at the formatting
of the blurb.
(In traditional publishing, trained people do this, people who know what kind
of blurb will sell a book, and it is vetted and worked over by the sales force.)

of the blurb is for the potential reader to look inside the book.

Refine the heck out
of your blurb using the results, and keep revisiting it until you love what you've written.
Then hand them a postcard with part
of your blurb on it (or your book so they can read the blurb on the back).
I purchase it based on overall rating and strength
of the blurb.

I haven't read the other comments, but I primarily tend to look at cover art, the strength
of the blurb, and user reviews.
Heck, after the sort
of blurb that came attached to the road legal version of the Ford Mustang Boss 302, you'd expect the S to have an even longer press release.
