There's excellent grip, sharp steering and far less body roll than in the Nissan Qashqai, while the Yeti's lively nature means it's far more fun in corners than any crossover has any right to be, even if its steering doesn't feel quite so well resolved as that of the Qashqai.

This allows the SS to hunker down and show no sign of body roll when you are playing around in the corners and also provides a smooth ride when you're doing some errands.

Changes of direction are instantaneous and, if you're in track mode, the double wishbone suspension at all four corners allows zero body roll.

The heavily weighted steering wheel conveys where and what the front wheels are doing well, the peppy engine enjoys life toward the top of the rev range and the body remains rigid without any noticeable roll in corners.

There's lots of body roll in faster corners, but that suits the relaxed and soothing driving experience.

It does a good job of balancing the need to limit body roll in a corner with the desire for highway ride comfort.

With the AMG model comes the Active Curve system which keeps the car flat in the corners, so no body roll, the cornering ability of the car needs to be tried to be believed, the 295 tyres help too!!!

Although the suspension feels soft and forgiving when going over bumps on the straights, in the corners the Phantom feels firm and planted, turning perfectly level without even a hint of body roll.

Tapping the paddle shifters between second and third gears, taking traffic - free turns at speed, the low roofline of the Scirocco R gave a more planted feeling than the boxier Golf R. With the DCC in its Sport program, the suspension felt rigid and the car cornered flat, with little discernible body roll.

To me it offers the best combination of a fine ride with a near zero body roll in corners.

It certainly leads to less body roll in corners, but also gives a firmer ride, with ridges across the road and even the joins between pieces of Tarmac on the motorway felt obviously in the cabin.

There's a fair degree of body - roll noticed through corners which in combination with a lack of steering feel does little to inspire confidence.

The Macan corners with all the eagerness of a well sorted sporting estate, displaying sharp turn - in traits, remarkably little body - roll and an ability to accept lateral forces without any discernible understeer.

It exhibited excellent compliance over wretchedly paved roads, with a high degree of comfort and minimal body roll in cornering.

Its handling is also nice and taut, but there is a little bit of body roll that creeps in at high speeds - primarily when cornering.
