I was nervous about covering the natural beauty
of the cedar shakes, but it was the right decision for the space as it tones down the wood color and lets the stone be the star.
We'd also kinda like to investigate the option of replacing the vinyl siding in the eaves with some kind
of cedar shake material...

cedar shakes will add tons
of texture but I bet the shutters go back up but painted a different color... Good luck!
You then have 3 colors to mix and blend - shades
of brown because
of the roof and

of green because
of the body
of the house, plants, etc., and mustard - gold tones because
of door.
I would also like to replace one wall
of board and batten with
cedar shakes.
I'll preface this — I'm a huge fan
of shake cedar shingle siding.
I'm currently obsessing over dark green and
cedar shakes, so it's obvious why this one made it to the top
of my list!
