Full of whit, charm and just oozing with style, the game is a time - travelling romp that although linear makes great use
of its cell shaded art style and welcome boss fights to satisfy any fan of 3D platformers.
Because of the nature

of special versus modes and online battle modes.
Some
of the locations have terrible textures which are easily spotted while the character models themselves aren't really highly detailed and sport a

shaded look.
In reality, when people say that they didn't like the «cartoony» art style
of Wind Waker, they usually mean they didn't like the
cell shaded approach, the younger character designs, the character proportions, and the bright color palette.

It wasn't until the release
of Dragonball Z: Budokai that I started to take notice only because the PlayStation 2 offered a significant jump in quality through
cell shading and various other effects to create a visual experience closer to the fidelity show (at the time) than any game before it.
The anime films by Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli — Studio Ghibli's films were often used as reference while crafting the

On the other hand, though, the cover system certainly isn't particularly great in comparison to many others out there (coughGearsofWarcough) A simple tap
of the A button on the Xbox controller will slam your

shaded avatar into whatever wall or chest - high piece

of A while pushing the analogue stick in any direction will disengage you from cover — Simples.
Platinum have given the game a cartoon feel by making the game

shaded, fluid, platforming game that stripped away the revered time control ability, and replaced it with a magical female partner.
