If you are serving your family, I'd place out tiny dishes
of the chow mein noodles so that everyone can sprinkle their own on top.
Divide the salad between eight plates, topping each plate with two tablespoons
of chow mein noodles, and serve immediately.

chow mein refers not so much to the specific types
of noodles used (though it sometimes does use wider and sometimes shorter
noodles than lo
mein), but that the
noodles are stir - fried along with the veggies.
That being said, I do save some
of the crunchy
chow mein noodles on the side so that you can sprinkle them on top.
Just as in my recipe for
chow mein, I find the
noodles in the fresh section
of Asian stores.
The garnish
of sliced green onions and crispy
chow mein noodles makes for an easy Asian treat.
